Thanks very much for sharing Yassser. Very clear explanation. After going through this video I was able to configure VLT on a pair of S4048-ON and an LACP bond on a Linux Server connected to the switches. I believe the S4048-ON runs a different OS because the commands are a bit different from the ones shown in the video but still have the same logic.
Beautiful video. Finally a clear explanation. Would it be possible to have a copy of the pptx file you use in the video? In any case, thank you so much. You have helped me understand VLT.
Hi. I know this is an older video but I am trying to setup VLT. I do have it setup where my two Dell switches are talking between the VLT links. Where I am confused and not sure about if if I need to setup the port-channel for the interfaces. What I am doing is setting up vSAN and vMotion. I will be using the same NICs on my host (two for each physical host. one NIC connected to one switch and the other NIC connected to the second switch). I will be using a separate port group, IP/subnet and vlan for each service. One for vSAN one for vMotion. If I am letting the protgroups in vCenter handle the traffic, do I need to setup port channels for each interfaces on the switches? (trying to make this as easy and uncomplicated as possible. Thank you.
Hello sir, I want to know in Dell S5224F switch, what is the use of management port? Is it only for heartbeating purpose?cz I can't access or not remotely via management port or not getting ping to management port IP even default route is given.
