Great content, thanks Alberto! question: if we remove the year column from the visual and replace it with e.g. date, will the visual calculation [growth %] be adjusted automatically to show the Δ% from the previous day?

Also, visual calcs generate values eveb for the combinations of values in rows/columns which donot exist in the model.

The visual calculations feature is in preview, indeed. The DAX syntax is less likely to change at this stage, though! It could evolve and add elements to it, but the structure is probably consolidated now.

Not necessarily - perhaps, if visual calculations are involved, it's more likely to be there.

Game-changer is big by definition. We'll see, time will tell. But it helps for simple calculations, it's not going to help much for complex calculations you want to reuse in other reports.

Why has this functionality been added to this set of tools? Is this trying to adapt the SSAS modeling for ragged hierarchies and the views available in that old model structure into powerBI?

This is the internal implementation of the visual calculation in Power BI. And yes, it reminded us the hierarchical structure of Multidimensional!
