It depends how you deleted it. If archicad promoted to save an you clicked no, then it’s gone forever. Otherwise archicad auto saves for you and should prompt you with unsaved files upon open

Hi I've just started Archicad and I have a few questions I don't have a Wall-external layer or 90mm wall type or custom walls like sp02 and I was wondering if you know why or if it is just an easy fix?
It will be because of your region and template. If you download the international template it might have more options for you. Otherwise you can create it yourself. Very normal as it might not be a common construction type in your area.
Hi David, I am using the new Archicad 26 student version but my programme appears to be a bit different to yours with not all the features that you have showing and many of the commands you give don’t work. Can I ask you a few questions please? My default workspace does not have the 4 elevations like you do. I have what looks like 4 sets of xmas tree baubles with lines through them, 2 each at the top, bottom, left and right. As there was no elevation line to click on, I clicked on one of the baubles and it did not change the tool bar above, it only started measuring. Do you know why that happened? When a drew a line and then clicked on the layers icon at the top, nothing to do with layers came up. So I can’t link or unlink layers. The only option that came up was a folder for ‘Walls’ with a set of different walls in it or ‘Favourites’ , which had nothing in the folder. Do you know why that happened please? So after drawing a wall, nothing comes up at the top that says which layers are applicable. when drawing walls, in the first window at the top, you have 'Structural Bearing' selected. That option is not appearing for me. The default I got was 'Wall External'. I typed in 'structural' and I got 2 options: IFC Structural or Structural Framing only. There is no option for 'Structural Bearing'. Is that a problem? In the next window, there are no option for ‘generic wall’. There are no folders for internal, external or composite wall. There is an icon at the top that indicates internal/external/composite walls. To choose the type of wall, you have to go to the next window to the right and in the drop down menu there are all they different types of walls including both internal and external walls all mixed in together. I pressed shift to make sure that the wall I was drawing was perfectly horizontal but it didn’t draw a wall, just some kind of single light blue dotted/dashed line that disappeared when I clicked at the other end. Do you know why that didn’t work? When I drew a wall and right clicked to ‘show all in 3D’ the windows at the top didn’t change and so no window for south elevation appeared. I’m not even half way through the video yet but I thought that I would only ask you so many questions at any one time. I hope that you can understand what is going on with my programme. Thanks, K.
Be patient with time to learn ArchiCAD! 'Some' people learn it in a 'couple of weeks', some in a 'couple of months' and some in a 'couple of years'. All the best, on your journey …
