Having exactly zero experience with machine embroidery, it was really interesting to see how one would even go about this process. Thank you for the show and tell.

That is so pretty. I love the colors and how you shaded the leaves. Did it take along time to learn to digitize?

I love to hand embroider. Your process seems so very difficult and time consuming. From beginning to end, how long did it take you to go from conception to actual completion of this handbag? I’ve wondered for awhile whether to invest in an embroidery machine, or simply continue to do the handwork as usual. I have seen your larger projects and they might be worth the investment in such technology, but I do smaller projects and hand embroidery seems much more time and cost effective.

The strawberries definitely aren’t quite ripe yet. ;) And the least ripe part is a very pale green, then they go pale yellow, orange, and finally red.

Digitizer! OMG! I think I know what I want to be when I grow up! My adult children will be so thrilled I finally figured it out! Thank you So much for doing this. I was just giddy through the whole process!!! I started sewing when I was nine. My profession was architectural draftsman. I am board and computer trained (AutoCAD 2.1). I am layer obsessive! Seriously I am giddy!! All that techno talk just had my heart racing!!! I would digitize all day!! Thank you for doing a whole garment in machine embroidery. When the machines first came out for the home market (cuz I am that old) I asked about its capabilities. I explained my vision of an embroidered Tudor style bodice and an eight inch embroidered skirt hem and embroidered head piece.....and the sales staff starts to glaze over with a look of "she is crazy". Their answer was always "well that would take so much time". I am going to prove my age and say DUH! People have you ever tried doing it by hand? Thank you for sharing!!!!

Someday I will learn to digitize myself so I can recreate Edwardian garments. Seeing your pieces is inspiring eye candy! It was helpful to hear that you approach this task just a few minutes at a time. I would never have thought of that. At my embroidery machine right now making forest animal pillow covers for winter. :)

O__O I could never imagine what that would look like. How often do you usually have to stitch it, until you like it? I only know one person who has a embroidery maschine and she only does very simple designs with it. This is so involved, I applaud you for your patience!

Thank you for showing us how you make those amazing embroidery patterns! So much tedious little nit-picky work is phenomenally rewarding, imho, especially if you get to WEAR it afterwards! Can't wait for the next video!

holy crap this is incredible! I really admire your process, this would stress me out beyond belief. I'm as tech-free in my craft as is possible so I found this super interesting. I'd definitely love to see more about the rest of the steps you take to embroider a piece!

Love it! So I just need to learn Palette 11 (or whatever digitize program my machine will use)? I was afraid I would also need illustrator.

Thank you for another highly detailed and interesting video, I love this program it has so many capabilities that my current software does not have. Could I ask what the base price of the software is without any discounts or combination deals…

Wow this was so much fun to watch! I’m “only” used with photoshop and GIS (geographical information system- for drawing maps) and it’s so cool how the programs are so much alike.

Thank SOOOO much! I’ve always been curious and enjoy watching these videos prior to deciding on investing to see if it’s something that I could I can manage. This is so cool!! Do you have any videos on digitizing patterns?

Wow! So much work by hand. I’m really impressed how well you get the essence! It is quite surprising that there isn’t a automatic tracing tool for the designs. Is there a way to change the transparency of the picture? It would help you to see where you draw. I’m professional Adobe Illustration user so for me it would be much easier to trace the design in Ai then import the line work into this program e.g. as svg file if this program understands other file formats.
@Sewstine
@Sewstine 4 года назад
That is a great question! Short answer - no. Not for historical images. 😫 the quality always gets mangled unless it’s a super simple design.
@kperttul
@kperttul 4 года назад
Sewstine such a pity that the saturation or the transparency of the picture can’t be adjusted inside of the program. The svg file is shortened from “Scalble Vector Graphics” in other word the picture is line Art and therefore can be scaled as much as needed. But I can see that the design should be then braked down to different layers because of different colors and stitches so in the end the total work time may be shorter inside of the program.
