Learn about the biosphere, ecosystems, communities, populations, organisms, habitats, niches, generalists, specialists, biotic and abiotic factors in this video!
If anyone is doing this for school these are the definitions in the video Ecology: The study of organisms' relationship to other organisms and the physical environment. Interdependence: Interdependence is the idea that in order to survive a species needs other living organisms and nonliving things. Biosphere: The “thin veil” over the Earth. All living organisms(on earth) live in the biosphere. Ecosystem: All the organisms and nonliving environments found in a certain place. Community: All the interacting organisms in an area(or ecosystem). Population: All of the organisms of one type of species in a certain area. Individual / Organism: An individual living thing. Habitat: The place where an organism lives. Biotic: Biotic factors are the living part of a habitat. examples: Grass, algae, fish, birds, and insects. Abiotic: Abiotic factors are the nonliving parts of a habitat. examples: Water, rocks, soil, sunlight, and temperature. Niche: The niche is the job or role of an organism in its environment. Generalist: Generalists eat a variety of foods. Specialist: Specialists eat very little one type of food.
Biosphere - The thin veil on earth that goes from above the ground to the deepest parts of the ocean, all life on Earth is in the biosphere Population - All of the organisms of one type of species in the area Organism - An animal Habitat - A place where an organism lives Niche - The role of the organism within its environment Biotic - Living organisms of a habitat Abiotic - Non-living organisms of a habitat Community - All of the interacting organisms in an area
Celeste Chavez I’m here trying to decide on a new future. I didn’t study at school and I’ve spent my life slugging it out on building sites. Although I am now a builder with my own business I am dying inside I truely wish I had the words to encourage you to study.
OML YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER - Have a science test tomorrow about ecology, and since my teacher is so boring; nobody normally listens. THANK YOU FOR YOUR AMAZING VIDEO!
am I the only one who came here just because I find the ecosystem and environment interesting? or the fact that I have only one year left before having to choose a major in highschool to prep for uni so im kind of exploring all types of things that intrigue me? lolol
the sad thing is I was searching for an indepth explanation of ecosystems (although this is not indepth and it seems the ones that have shown up are very introductory style.) I wish when I was searching for this stuff I knew the keywords that would give me the more indepth results but i’m looking for info I didn’t already know.
Now this is awesome, even as an adult I learned a lot from this. I am an organic gardener and use organism to create a quality compost, using compost worms to finalise the process. Thanks Marty
lol we all hated school, but now we want to go back to friends >:3 its like the carona wants us to feel sad and lonely because your not the favorite child, my doggo is :3
Great video. My Year 11 Outdoor and Environmental Studies class just watched this video and gained a greater understanding of our theory work. Thanks you so much! From Mr Ty Cover.
About to graduate from college in a few weeks and despite the fact that my degree literally has nothing to do with it, lately I’ve been drawn to learn more about ecology. Happy to know a lot of this stuff is still vaguely familiar to me from elementary school. However, it also just reminded me of my unfortunate mispronunciation of “organism” during popcorn reading one time. It’s a memory I’d hoped I would’ve forgotten fully by now 😅 Anyway, happy learning everyone!
Awesome video, how beneficial would a few courses of ecology be for a woodsmen. In regards to understanding animal behavior and living with the land in a nonparasitic way? Just a passion of mine, I also want to do mechanical engendering and business.
To whatever trickster that thought it would be ok to leave their mark on the subtitles of this beautiful video. Please stop being a bully, bullies make me angry ):
Equilibrium. Let's say we have a graph structure. Nodes colored red and black. Assign weights to nodes, integers. If the sum of the blacks and the sum of the reds are only within some small difference of each other, that's an equilibrium. It means one can still fall both ways. if the game goes on indefinitely.... Unfortunately in this game we require the full exhaustive list of perpetrators in order to have some assurance that we have won.
Me encanto el video muy bueno y educativo ya me suscribí a apreté la campanita dies de dies el video aprendí mucho y me lo relataron de una forma muy interesante muchas gracias me alegraste el día
hello everyone, my lecturer told me to watch this video. Can anyone help me to provide me with translations of the sentences in this video in Indonesian, because I am a native of Indonesia. thanks.
A point to note: An organism isn't referred to as a single 'animal', but rather an animal, plant, bacteria or anything that possesses the characteristics of life.
Y’all lucky, I have to teach myself ecology because my councilor messed my schedules up and I need to take AP physics next year but I was never tought ecology 😂 and you need it for the big junior test.
Teacher here - Glad to see so many of you actually watching this vid as compared to so many who copy and paste questions into Google search and then copy and paste answers into your work - with no thought at all!
