My experience is with centerfire rifles and I'm just starting to get interested in air rifles. I think a lot of things from reloading for precision rifles will apply to airguns. Sorting brass by case capacity, powder charges trickled and measured to the hundredth or thousandth of a grain, sorting bullets by hundredth or thousandth of a grain, consistent seating depth and neck tension. That can all be applied by using an accurate/consistent regulator and using high quality projectiles that are sorted by diameter and weight among other things will drastically improve consistency, I think. I know these videos have been around for a while, but I'm enjoying them.

Some of us as target shooters are very interested in the ballistics explanations your series explains, but I'm completely against killing animals for sport. Please do not mix the content or at least put a warning at the start of such graphic videos.

As someone who has worked full time in external ballistics and the aerodynamics of all types of gun launched projectiles for nearly 40 years I am looking forward to this series. I have also studied the aerodynamics and ballistics of pellets for the last 20 years as a natural extension of my work. One thing which is slightly worrying is the mention of drag stabilisation. Contrary to popular belief, I know of no airgun pellets which are drag stabilised. To produce drag stabilisation you would need to have a parachute, ribbon or flexible tail behind your pellet. The conventional diablo shape is not drag stabilised, it is flare stabilised and flares do not stabilise by drag. They use lift, produced by the flare, to move the aerodynamic centre behind the centre of gravity which is what produces the stability. Please tell me you are not going to repeat that basic mistake.

So glad you’re going to study and present your findings to us on this subject. I find it so frustrating that Airgun pellets are restricted generally to no faster than roughly 950fps and become unstable and inaccurate when faster. I do hope pellet manufacturers sponsor you to do this in-depth research to finding the best ballistic coefficient projectile for airguns. Good luck, I’ll be following.
