Best of luck with the course Johannes, I cannot afford it as I'm a broke Australian student, but I've loved your work in the past (mostly the Heidegger courses), but I did happen to specifically raise your name and course on Nishitani the other day in the John Vervaeke monthly discord Q&A, and he speaks volumes of you and your work (as do I). I wish to get into German idealism at some point once I've handled phenomenology a bit more better, Fichte and Schelling I think are both great core-reading before jumping into Hegel or Kant right away (which I think most people would tend to do), I'll have to have a dig around on my amazon wish list :)

The notion that these things that appear to be so different...are actually the same...fascinates me, nay, I believe it! I've only now discovered this course. What you've said in these nine minutes has given me enough to chew on for nine months! Several years ago, I read an article about Holderlin's philosophy in the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy. As I recall, he is very prescient, very influential, in bridging the gap between "subject" and "object." For Hegel, his friend, this mission is accomplished in the Concept, which "contains" as it were both realms. Am I right? Yes, I'd love to learn more about these mysteries. I'm even thinking about learning German, but this would be time away from reading and study, precious time away. So I'm not sure if it would be quite worth the time, that is, to learn German, if I'm almost dead by the time I've barely come to terms with the language!
