I find it very interesting, and have been taught about it since my ECE training, but I have some practical questions, if someone could help: - how many children in a classroom? -how many adults in a classroom? -how does the first week go? how does the teacher introduce the routines/ how to behave? - how does the teacher deal with a child who doesn't want to engage with any activity or clean up? Thank you in advance!
I was made to polish silver as a child. Not for punishment, not harshly. It was just a chore I performed at home. I do not own silver as an adult and that's no non sequitur.
Montessori isn't a label so basically anyone can open a school and call it Montessori. Your experience is unfortunate but doesn't really say much about the efficacy of Montessori programs. Plenty of research has been done that shows that authentic Montessori pedagogy is effective - there's just a lot of schools out there that call themselves Montessori and don't follow the pedagogy properly.
