Question : How do we identify individual genes causing these traits within the vast genome of the bird ? e.g. blue colored eggs. Which equipment will be required to do this i.e. identification of individual gene.
This requires genetic testing. There is a company that does that for parrots and pigeons (avian2.animalgenetics.com/Avian/Avian-Index.asp avian2.animalgenetics.com/Avian/DNA_Typing/Avian-DNA-Typing.asp) but you could ask about chickens.
