Starting Servlet 3, no web.xml is required. Use @WebServlet annotation.

If the client and the server are separated by a very large distance, who writes the servlet ? The client side programmer or the server side programmer ? How does the servlet get loaded on to the server if the client side programmer writes the servlet ?
