Hey Lauren, Yes this is a condensing hive. We have a vented bottom. Because the high density polystyrene is a very stable product, the internal walls never reach dew point. As a result, any moisture does not condensate on the hive top, but instead only condensates along the walls. This moisture runs down the walls and out the vented floor. - Zavier
I use instantvap - is there a recommendation for how to use this with HiveIQ - without melting it? What would the consequences of drilling a hole (then using a golf tee to close) be? Instantvap has a little adaptor for use with Apimaye hives - but those hives have a round entrance. I think you don't have the varroa misery in Australia - would you consider a feature that included a 'port' for Instantvap (I'm just a backyard keeper, but I know commercial keepers use instantvap for the speed). Thanks.@@hiveiq
Hey Tim, We're in the process of developing our feeder, it should be available by the end of the 2024! In the mean time, our hive is compatible with entrance feeders and in-frame feeders.
