I've had this radio for 6 weeks now. It really is a great radio. Most of the on line criticism is nit picking. some are just sour grapes. Going to make a whole lot of 100 watt rigs obsolete. Fantastic receive.
I concur. It's a fantastic radio. It replaced my main rig in my shack it's that good. I also use it mobile in my car powered by a leisure battery. It pulls just under 1a on rx. Bloody fantastic. For a long time I searched for a good all rounder. 7300 is just that.
contrary to limited vague criticism, the hand mic is quite good. No matter how much they slam this radio (and it isn't much) I keep making contacts and keep getting good reports. If you don't like yours I'll buy it for $999.
I really love the design on this transceiver and I can't wait until it hits the open market and some videos begin appearing from actual users. Since it's and all new design I'm just curious if there will be any issues. The first year will typically reveal any problems a radio like this has (if any).
Hi i think i read in manual not to use the auto atu if your using an amplifier and i cant understand why, i have one of these radios very pleased with it...Fred in Uk. g4vvq.
The price of this in Australia is so good that the price at the grey importers is 100s of $aud higher. I have a shack full of newish gear (max of 18 months old) and I find myself wanting one of these now. Cheers Eddie VK6YA
Greetings dear friend. It has been the question of many Radio Amateurs in the world and I would like to hear your sincere and technical opinion if possible because this has become a worldwide debate with controversial opinions. Are the new transceivers with Touch-screen technology really reliable? wouldn't they be easier to give technical problems? Or is this a meaningless myth?
Not keen on the way you have to go in and out of the display to change the functions would have been better to have more buttons on the front panel to show which function is in operation and Only one aerial socket?
A shame they didn't include 2m, because 1GHz sampling ADCs have been available for years now. As it is the first real SDR from Japan comes over as yet another 100W HF black box.
