I have a pro-92, but haven't used it in 8 years. It did come in handy for monitoring LTR systems since it didn't require the freq's to be entered in LCN order. Those old LTR's here were converted to MotoTRBO Connect Plus 7 years ago. I've been scanning since 1990.
Around here in my neck of the woods they use trunking all the time even my Uniden scanner BC it picks up a ton of that noise but eventually I’m gonna get a trunking scanner I don’t think I’m gonna get a digital scanner because they’re way too expensive and with the Encryption nowadays it’s not even worth it
Today, Trunking can be Analog or Digital, and single site and multi-site systems, as well as IP based extenders. As with iDAS systems. Today, everyone is migrating from analog to digital and the NXDN 6.25 KHz FDMA--N is the next generation communications for 2018.
Ferber b - depends on Quality of your Antenna and height of your receiving antenna. Cheapest way is to use a UHF/VHF TV antenna . But also use a High Gain Antenna with a Han Held Model.
you NEED a Trunking scanner in order to hear BOTH Sides of the Conversation. If you use a Older Scanner, you will only receive PART of the Conversation.
