Introduction to Yuk Chai School, Taman Megah (Uncle Roger, are you impressed?) 

YO! Yo! YO! Best school in the world identified at the heart of Petaling Jaya, and that’s SJKC Yuk Chai. We’re the best not because of what we have but because of who we produce. So Yuk Chai students, parents and all our staffs …. We’re talking about you.
This video is specially made for our standard 1 students in year 2021. Now let me bring you through our school virtually.. There are 2 main gates leading to the sound of children’s joy and laughter - namely Gate B & Gate A. There’s a guard house each situated beside both main gates.
There’s a 7 storey building as your enter Gate A. The lower ground and Ground floors are the canteen. There are lifts available leading to the other floors at the side of the building. Our Teacher’s office is located on the first floor. The administration office is on the same level. First we have our headmaster, Mr Chew. There are 4 assistants to our headmaster, Madam Chong, Madam Ng, Mr Lee and Mr Hiew.
Moving up to the 2nd floor, there are a few activity rooms for our students. We have the dancing room, Computer room, music & arts and even a place to call home for chess lovers. As we proceed to the 3rd floor, there’s a beautiful auditorium. Story telling, singing competition and concerts are regularly held here throughout the school’s calendar year. Besides that, we also have a very comfortable library, so good you’d happily stay there during MCO period. On the 4th floor, there’s another hall. This would be the young gymnasts’ hangout place. Ping pong and badminton tournaments are held in the place too.
Now, let’s move on to the classrooms. Every classroom would be equipped with a smart board that changes how the way our lessons are being conducted in the classroom. There are 4 blocks of classrooms called Block A,B,C and D. There is a long walkway connecting all 4 blocks which eventually leads us to the school hall too. There are 2 reading corners for students to chill around, and a Japanese Garden with a pond and a nice fountain to come along with it. This is the perfect hangout place for students during recess time, pre-pandemic. There’s also a mini bookstore at Block A’s ground floor for students to get their learning materials.
This hall is demolished years ago and rebuilt to its current form. The fully air-conditioned hall is equipped with wonderful sound systems and even a giant LED Screen, so much so you’d be forgiven for thinking that you’re in a cinema. Did I mention that the roof of the hall is covered with solar panels to generate some income so that our school could be self sustaining.

Here’s our running track and padang that the old child in me could only dream of having in my primary school days. It probably is every child’s favorite place to be at school. Apart from that, we also have a very nice NBA-like basketball court that’s covered by a roof over our heads.
