Those hubs come with the tdx xp power wheelchair if you ask for them when buying a new chair. They are called the free wheelibg unlockable hubs for if the chair breaks you can push it easier. I got them on my first chair, never had to use that option and the rims were ugly.
Nice tutorial on this thanks. But aren't you putting more weight on those motor axels with extending that hub? Any risk in breaking the axels? Also, have you tested this on rough terrain at all? Also the TDX SP I have does not have those two piece type of hubs, where did you get those?
could you please send me were you got the parts for this, and any information were to get them, i would like to do this to one of my old chairs. thanks
Dude .... what are those drive axle adaptors called and where do I buy them? I have searched SO LONG for a way to fit pneumatic tires on my power-chair. I'll buy you a beer!
LIBERTYLATENIGHT hello they are free wheel adapters for the invacare tdx all i did was flip it inside out and welded them together then using a home made adapter I drilled the pattern for the lug nuts/studs. wheels and tires can be found on ebay
Mr. T hello these are free wheel hub adapters from invacare all I did is reverse the assembly and weld the two sides together and drill out the new lug nut pattern
How can I get a hold of one of those adapters. I bought the motors from wheelchairs for my power wheel project but the wheels are way skinnier and ugly. I like to put a bigger and wider tires. Anywhere available to buy on the website including the tires would be great.
