You're right. Originally I thought it was about the native American, but this song can apply to many occupations/invasions through out history and even currently.

This song could be about any culture today. Every standing culture today in the advanced (and I use that term "advanced" loosely) has taken over the previous culture. I live in the U.S. in a NW state with a lot of Native Americans and if you think they will come back strong you are sadly mistaken. Their culture is now one of dependence, alcoholism, high crime and a continuing downward spiral. I can't see it happening. I don't mean this comment as demeaning or argumentative but I see Native Americans everyday throughout the day...I don't see the comeback.
