It is not true. They really crossed our (Czechoslovakian) border. But the NVA army was ordered to withdraw its army at such times because our nation did not want to be occupied by the Germans a second time because of the memory of the Nazi occupation

The Warsaw Pact was literally created trough the soviets occupying a bunch of eastern european countries and setting up communist puppet governments within them

There wasn’t really a functional military because a lot of the commanders were arrested for “treason” and didn’t know what was going on, no one knew about the invasion only a couple party members who betrayed us. The casualties mainly come from people throwing things at soldiers and trying to hold them off by standing in front of the tanks but there’s only so much you can do if you don’t have any weapons and the opposing side does

The Soviets feared that the Czechs would put up fierce resistance due to memories of the annexation of the Sudetenland.

USSR was the only country thay actually invaded Czechoslovakia, rest was sent to officially maintain peace, in reality split the blame. But unlike Polish or Bulgarian troops, German troops could've been seen as invaders trying to take over their land or "revenge" for WW2

They didn’t want Germans to participate because Germans had bad reputation in Czech lands and they feared that Czechs will put a fierse resistance not only to Germans but Warsaw pact as a whole. They didn’t want to provoke them. Czechs seeing Germans were always like a bull when he sees red

Because this wasn't a war, but just an intervention. They ordered the Czechoslovakian army to not to resist, so the Warsaw Pact had no enemy. Their objective was just to drive to the main cities and objects in the country with tanks and to take control over them

Thats because the Czechoslovak military was ordered to stand down, so they just kinda followed the soviets around just in case the orders changed..

They did, but just for a short time and then were withdrawn - reminiscents of WW2 were to fresh beck then. Bulgarian troops also participated.

It was called "the Prague Spring" (use the f**king google). Moscow couldn't let that happen so they started the occupation and re-established a strict satellite regime under Moscow. There were NO REBELS here. That's just a stupid excuse used by the Russians. Occupying some state under the pretext of "fighting rebels" is such a Russian tradition...

There was no coup planned in Czechoslovakia (that's just fact) and the invasion was not legitimate even if it was.

As a political scientist, let me give you a little bit of history lesson: 1) Czechoslovakia was invaded, because its government was controlled by liberal socialists. The party members that asked Soviet Union for intervention were Stalinists that were not even part of the government during that time. (So your argument is already illegitimate) 2) When the Warsaw Pact invaded, the Czechoslovak governmend called in a session and the condemnation of the invasion was decided by the vote of majority. 3) During the invasion, the members of the liberal socialist government of Czechoslovakia were forcefully taken away to Moscow by Soviet troops, where they were forced to recognize the invasion and a new Czechoslovak Soviet-approved government. While also approving of Soviet troops staying in the country forever. (So claiming legitimacy of anything that came after is also not an argument as that government did not in any sence represent the interest of Czechoslovakia, but of the USSR) Any questions?
