Thank you, thank you for this informational video. I live in southeastern CT/New London County. I'm a senior citizen and have difficulty getting around. Bittersweet has invaded my flower beds. I will have to hire someone to work with me when I cut it down and spray it. I was thrilled to find this video!

Thank you so much, Mary Ann. Your comment means a lot to me. And I hope you can get rid of that bittersweet.

Thank you for this video! In my hometown I see garlic mustard, a LOT of knotweed, and bittersweet. I've also seen burning bush planted outside storefronts and in yards. It's a shame to see invasives deliberately planted in landscaping. This is such an informative video! The invasive plant gallery sounds like a valuable educational resource.

Thank you for this comment. Unfortunately the town demolished the gallery, most likely by accident. But the plants of course persist.

there is another bittersweet vine, but it is native to north America. American bittersweet vine has terminal clusters of flowers and berries. the berries have and orange covering around them rather than a yellow covering. American bittersweet grows to 20 feet tall while oriental bittersweet grow up to 100 feet tall.

Holy cow. I live in Carlisle and was Googling invasive buckthorn of Massachusetts to help identify what I have. I am going to stop by Banta David in the morning.... I just bought a brush mower to get rid of the thorns and buckthorn.

Hi Michael, the last time I went by the invasive garden it had been destroyed by the construction that went on there. Since we are now in Carlisle (I'm Claude's partner) just let us know and I can help you with your identification if it's not too late. Carla

A norway maple also has seven lobes on its leaves rather than five on a sugar maple.

I appreciate the very important question asked @16:45. Although it still seems a little irresponsible.

Thank you for this comment. As John mentioned, all of the plants in the "gallery" were already growing right in that location. If there were other invasives that weren't in that area, he did not introduce them.

I'm surprised no mention of Tree of Heaven. That is the worst!

I'm sorry you have to grapple with that one. We didn't have much in our area when I made this video.

This is the invasive plant gallery in Carlisle, MA, behind the ball field and near the cemetery. It was destroyed by the dpw a few years ago, unfortunately, but the plants, as invasive, mostly still thrive.

is poison ivy invasive or just not touched much by humans ?
@CB99Videos
@CB99Videos 3 года назад
it's actually native (not considered invasive) but it is very "invasive" in my book. Best to suit up in Tyvek with gloves and booties and pick it and bag it (double if you can) and throw it away.

Excellent video. Hate the guilt associated with invasive species :/
