When Chronos and Hephaestus take the Invent action they get a progress tile matching the type of the idea and region number, not just tech. This is true any time Chronos or Hephaestus receive a progress tile. When Hephaestus travels, after moving his piece to the next region with a sage, he places a citizen in the region. He also gains a progress tile corresponding to the type of idea in the region. When Hephaestus places a pillar in a forum, you only gain influence if it’s on the same action space, not just the same forum. Likewise you only give him 2 points if you go to the same action space. Make sure (you did this right but worded it incorrectly) that you only take a sage on travel IF you have a chain token to spend. If you travel and cannot (or don’t want to) do the chain action then you do not get the sage. 32:32 you placed the chain token on the first card instead of the current card. 35:38 you cannot flip the tokens because there is no sage. There must be a sage present in order to take any chain action when traveling. 37:52 when your citizen on a milestone is removed from the board during an era change, it becomes a scholar, it does not go back to your supply unless you’re at your academy limit. 43:56 region 1 connects to the second idea display, not the third, so you gave Hephaestus the wrong type of progress tile. 52:45 Chronos’ turn was skipped. 1:00:51 You forgot to grab a progress tile for the invent action. 1:07:39 After chaining the action in the region you need to flip the tile. 1:13:57 All citizens should’ve moved into the region. Hope this helps for future plays, several of your mistakes made the game more difficult for you so I’m sure these fixes will help!
Thanks for the feedback. I didn’t know about the sage situation as you described it so I will go back and review the rules. On the first point, you are right. I think I just messed that up since I was crossing it up with regular rules. Thanks for watching!
@@JohnLaRuffa Yes the sage rules especially are very confusing for solo because the way Hephaestus travels and the way the player travels are quite different with nuances at every step...
Thanks for the video. I checked the last rulebook published online and I just noticed a mistake (at 16:38): the other players or AI only give you influence when they share your precise action space, not your forum (column).
I appreciate the feedback. I will certainly do more play through videos. Adding the teaching portion is probably something I would do in a separate video to keep the time down though.
