The Inverted Stonefly is a cool looking stonefly pattern that will ride hook point up. I am a big time euro nympher and I typically like a fly on a jig hook, however a lot of jig hooks just don't make the best stonefly hooks. By adding weight to the back of the hook shank it causes the fly to ride hook point up when fished. The advantage to the hook up drift is less snagging the bottom and possible lost flies.
Like most of the patterns I share on my channel, this one is one that that should be tied in different colors and sizes to match the stonefly species in your area. For me with stoneflies, I like to tie them in browns, blacks, and goldens. If you need anything to tie these patterns, please go to our website www.holsingersguideservice.com for all your fly tying needs.
As always thanks for watching and supporting our channel and shop.
