Very good video and so true, especially the bit about Sicily; I lived there for four years running an Airbnb, then a friend recommended moving to Sardinia. Bought a house in Monserrato last month; best thing I ever did. I have lived and worked in 12 countries, Europe, Africa and Middle East and finally found paradise on earth.

Thanks for your enthusiasm and video! You remind me , to include Sardinia in my next trip. I am seriously considering moving to Italy. Looking into puglia, calabria,molise, Abruzzo. I do like and practice windsurfing

Thank you for your comment. The one thing to keep in mind is that it can get very busy in July and August, and the rates of hotels, AirBNBs drop a lot in nice months like May and June or September and October… if you are flexible on when you visit.

You guys are leaving our life. We have two little kids and also had a massive wake up after covid, left Australia. We are living in French Polynesia a stunning island and looking for the same in Europe, and Sardinia is calling our soul. Would loveeee to catch up over zoom with you both

Thanks for reaching out, seems like French Polynesian would sound like some idealistic place. I have heard that cost of living is very high, but would love to hear your story!!!

Thank you so much for this video. You had me at "quiet" 😂 as I currently live in a very beautiful part of central Mexico but this morning was woken up by the sound of roosters, barking dogs and then fireworks about 7 a.m. signaling the launch of a new festival. I also really like the point you made about it being green all year long as we have an extremely long dry season here of about eight months and everything gets very proud and very dusty. I like green but I don't like it to be too cold. I look forward to subscribing to your channel and seeing your construction-related videos!

Thank you for your kind note. It’s the reason I continue to make these videos. They take a lot of time to produce and edit, but I always feel that if I can touch someone somewhere around the world, or someone can feel a little bit more inspired by my story, then it’s worth it! So thank you for posting your comment. It touched me :-)

Amazing, my recommendation is just be careful if you go in July and August as it can get packed. If you go June or September you’ll have a very different experience without the amount of people that come over the two summer months. Just my point of view. Do let me know what you think when you go!

You should definitely go. I do recommend going just before or just after high season, so May or June or September, you don’t get the crazy crowds of the summer, so much better hotel rates and beaches with lots of space :-)

Love it, great, fast explanation. What towns would you recommend that are affordable, walkable and not far from coast? I am not rich, but looking to move from US back to Europe. There are lot of choices, I have no clue where to look and what to look for. Thanks a tons for any TIPS. Gracias!!
@bluevistaproperties
@bluevistaproperties Месяц назад
Hi, a lot depends on what you are looking for. I personally would stay not to far from an airport, so you can get to Europe. Also, it really slows down off season, so I would say close to a city that has life year round. There are so many options in Europe. I would definitely travel and stay for a while to get a sense and if you love it or not. Sardinia outside of the summer where it gets packed, it really is quiet. It’s great for people who want that slower pace, to get out of the frantic world. If you like hiking there is a new deal that would allow you to explore the area at a really affordable cost. Check out this link. www.bbc.com/travel/article/20240523-sardinia-the-mediterranean-isle-where-hikers-stay-for-free

I'm from New Alamin City in Egypt. My apartment is 4 minutes away from the Mediterranean and it is 240 square meters. Let me tell you the beaches we have are way more beautiful then Sardiana. Oh and before you start talking down about Egypt's north cost and how Italy is better just check New Alamin. This is where Italians go for vacation.

Yes, Egypt has some beautiful beaches. I am not familiar with how easy it is for foreigners to buy real estate. But feel free to share here some links to the best beaches so people who see your comment can check as well those sites. I’m all for beautiful places, I just share the ones that I know or have visited. Egypt is on my list for a future trip!

Hi, what do you suggest, if we go there? What cities to travel? I will have a car…maybe spend 5 days there? We like the beach
@bluevistaproperties
@bluevistaproperties 5 месяцев назад
You should fly into one of the main airports. I would say ideally you have at least a week, if you want to explore more of the island!

What area your thoughts about the Albanian riviera?
@bluevistaproperties
@bluevistaproperties 6 месяцев назад
Hello, I have been asked that question and I had looked into it but for a variety of reasons I decided not to consider it, partially due to rules and regulations around property, titles and building, but also from a development opportunity and capital appreciation perspective. I like to say follow the big money, the investors who do deep diligence and then start investing in an area early. Montenegro, and in particular around Tivat, clicks that box. But there might be interesting opportunities in Albania but I have no expertise. Wishing you the best with your projects.

doyou know if there is unesco restrictions on building in sardinia?
@bluevistaproperties
@bluevistaproperties 2 месяца назад
There are many various building rules which are linked to the location of the property. Sardinia can be very strict with regards to what can be built where, the size you can build versus the size of the land, the building code of that area, etc. If you are considering building you should really consult with a specialist about what can and can’t be done. Wishing you all the best with your projects!

Also what cities in its,y fly direct to sardignia
@bluevistaproperties
@bluevistaproperties 5 месяцев назад
The two largest airports are Olbia in the North and Cagliari in the South. Best to check the flight options depending on where you are flying from.

30 thousand... square meters!?
@bluevistaproperties
@bluevistaproperties 6 месяцев назад
Yes, the rules for building require in some areas a very large lot of land. So the lots to sell that allow to build one house can be very large, unless they are in a development or a city where naturally the lot sizes are much much smaller.

Thanks for these videos I’m an Italian/canadian currently living in canada But hoping to move to Italy full time soon and living off my investments. I am leaning towards Sardinia I think we will rent first and then buy once we have lived there for a year and are sure it’s for us. Any chance you can make a video on the different parts of Sardinia and how to choose where to live / rent on the island for people like me that won’t need to be looking for work…but rather just for the best place to live for a balanced lifestyle and to raise a family (homeschooling) :)
@bluevistaproperties

Hi Roberto, there is a very good tax incentive scheme for Italians who return to Sardinia, like a low single digit tax... could be interesting. I don't have any other videos unfortunately, the one thing in my experience about choosing a location depends on what you like. For me, I wanted to be close (within 1 hour) to an airport. So that meant either in the north close to Olbia or in the South close to Cagliari. I think you should take a week and go and explore, there nothing like being there in person and getting a sense of the island. And do keep me updated and let me know what you think. You can also share here your experience for others to be able to benefit from it.

My style is more « talking head » then massive editing, which takes tons of time in the video editing software… so I’ve shifted my content to me more talking and less b-roll, animations, music, etc. But I understand it might be less engaging.

2 second reason it's wrong.sardinia and Sicily are about the se size
@bluevistaproperties
@bluevistaproperties 9 месяцев назад
Good call out, you are correct. I guess in Sardinia it feels like there are so many more places, towns, beaches within short driving distance, while in Sicily we often had to drive a long way to get to the next sight.
