Great point on the position sizing! I followed them by buying Alibaba and Tencent and 15% position each. I got absolutely killed in the past 2 or 3 years. Luckily the rest of my portfolio in the US index and Berkshire performed well. Overall with the recent rally I came out okay but it was really tough mentally to hold these 2 stocks. As you said, I am done with my Chinese stocks and I will start selling out soon. I should have allocated a much smaller position. Lesson learnt!

I have been a dividend focused investor for a long time. This does not mean I don't own growth stocks, I do. A well rounded portfolio should be a mixture of both categories. One way to minimize the anxiety out of stock market investing, is to make sure you keep a large cash cushion. I invest in the market, but never put all my money in market.

I agree with you on CB. I always assume an individual stock is going to underperform it's historical performance. If a stock is only matching the snp then I have to assume it will underperform the snp. It might turn-around and go to the Moon but I'd rather get exposure to CB in an index fund.

Very insightful and this comes at the right time as I am going to redesign my portfolio and the reminders of buying great companies but go through the criteria.
