I wear Invicta Pro Divers. I can find no fault with them. I buy several from Amazon when the price is right and give them to friends and strangers as gifts. I can’t justify five or six thousand dollars for a premium watch. It’s nice to be able to give money to help less fortunate folks with groceries, gas and utilities instead of wearing it on my wrist.
Mine is now 13 years old. It was my third mechanical after 2 Seikos. I wore this sucker through my military time on a Nato strap for about 6 solid years. Then I wore it when I would go out camping, hiking, etc. The date window is chipped, the bezel scratched up along with the crystal, but it still chugs along just fine. Wore it all week for fun at the river. Great tool watch.
I had one of these a few years ago. For the price, outstanding. The automatic movement was accurate. I swam, river rafted and skin dived with it. No problems.
In October I was on the fence about purchasing this watch. After I watching this video I decided order one through Amazon and I've been quite pleased. So far it's kept great time and I get plenty of compliments about it. The Pro Diver is definitely a keeper.
I've got mine, six months ago, and let me tell you , this watch found a special place in my heart. Sometimes I dump it for a week or two and wear other watches, but I always come back to it.... Like my first love. Maybe because it came very beautiful, from a very big family of other ugly enormous invicta watches.
Totally agree with this great revue. I own a 1987 Rolex “bluesy” submariner, which is a great watch, but I’m hesitant to wear it out in public due to crime here. I bought the Invicta two-tone blue dial pro diver, and have had it for almost a year and love it! I snorkel with it, and wear it in all conditions. No issues at all. You just can’t find a better watch for this price point.
What whatch was made first in Switzerland and still makes swiss movement?? INVICTA, thank you , Rolex is just hyped ... Even breitling is automatic and still over priced some of your expensive brands makes automatic with Seiko movement and they don't tell you .. that's why I rather have the originals Which Is Seiko And Invicta, when you talk Seiko And Invicta you're talking history and good stories ..
All I know is that every single Invicta I own has had a perfectly aligned bezel a perfectly aligned chapter ring and my bracelets are adequate for the price that I paid. What I just said is completely opposite for Seiko
I was a Invicta "hater" until I saw the Pro Diver and a few other models. Having only ever seen the bulky and gawdy models I was like....this stuff is trash. Then I saw the Pro Diver and watched a few videos. I bought four.
There is no better watch for the money than the Invicta Pro Diver! Hands down for all those reasons you stated! Everyone can afford the Invicta and they can experience a quality classy automatic timepiece for less than a hundred bucks. The NH35a is one of the most robust and dependable movements ever made, let alone the cost! In fact, I buy them for gifts to friends and family as well!
I got the call from my AD 3 weeks ago and purchased the Rolex Bluesy Sub. I also have the Pro Diver that you’re reviewing. I adore my Rolex but the Pro Diver is an amazing watch for the money. I proudly wear them both!
I bought one two weeks ago at an Invicta shop (yes it exists) here in the Netherlands. To my surprise it holds time more accurate then my five other and much more expensive automatic watches...
I've only had mine for about 2 weeks. The first week it seemed to loose 3 seconds per day consistently, but then I went ahead and wound it hard and took effort to move the auto movement and for this 2nd week it seems to be spot on to a second fast. Very impressed so far.
I've had the pro diver for four years now and I work in some very extreme weather conditions. Out doors in northern Minnesota. Outside in -40 weather and up to 90+ degrees in the summer. My pro diver has never missed a beat. It's been covered in bug repellent , sunblock which you can't even do that with a g shock. Covered in mud, dirt sweat, and at one point blood. A rinse in the river and it's good as new. It's been bashed against rocks, been with me in the wilderness, rain, snow, swimming, hot tubs, nice dinners with the wife. You name it, it's done it. No one has ever mistaken it for a Rolex but it gets more compliments than a Seiko monster that I wore for 20 years ever got. I use to think the Seiko monster was the best watch for the money but now........I honestly think it's the Invicta pro diver.
15 year ago I picked one of these up for 70 bucks, Wore it to work, wore it to the beach, the pool, yard work.....etc....it never leaked and it still keeps good time. This watch is a beast for the price...
I love the Pro Diver. I got my first one about 20 years ago to wear while I was saving up for my Submariner. I gave it away when I finally got my Sub, but ended up buying another one to use as a 'stunt double' for those occasions when wearing an expensive watch is a bad idea. I also have the 26970, which is identical to the 8926OB except in quartz. Perfect knockaround watch.
@@romanmoruz Thanks, although it's not entirely fair to say that I simply moved from one to the other. I genuinely like the Invicta in its own right, not just as a Submariner substitute. It's a really good watch, and nobody should feel ashamed to own one just because of a few haters.
Hey dude, is the rotating bezel around the 26970 quartz Invicta very tight, or does it have sufficient ease of rotation? And, is the black dial version better than the blue one?
@@ritwikmukherjee6455 I'd say it's just right. It's not loose enough enough be knocked by accident, but not so tight that it is difficult to turn. It is a bit difficult to turn with wet hands, but that's true of most bezels unless they are very chunky. There is no difference between the black and blue versions except the color - just pick which one you like the look of.
I've had my 8926OB since 2014. It's been scuba diving in Mexico, and I've traveled all over with it. It looks nice, runs reliably, and was a good value. I also have the two tone black dial and blue dial, and the gold black dial versions. They all run a little slow but I've never tried to have them regulated. If the watch eventually breaks, I'll either mod it with a new movement and dial or just buy another one. I have had so many different straps on mine from leather, NATO, bracelet, crocodile, etc.
I own the Pro diver in blue. It is my first foray into automatics, with the idea that I would upgrade to something better if I liked it. After two years I still have not found adequate reason to replace it as my daily. My only complaints with the watch are the excessive branding, rattly metal strap and the inadequate lume. A Nato strap took care of the rattles. Other than that I cannot fault it. In terms of accuracy I lucked out, I get about 30 seconds drift per month. There were a few options for starting out with automatics, but I eventually settled on the Pro diver to annoy the watch snobs.
they are mostly annoyed because they see you in public with it, initially think it looks good, they get a close up look, realize it isnt a rolex, and then they stick their nose up for wasting their time and energy thinking, 'that watch looks good, what is it? Invicta, oh nevermind.'
I agree with you that this watch is the best watch under $100. I got mine on sale for $55. Because this watch is always on sale 2 times a year every year for over 5 years, I consider that it's price. Making it a $60 dollar watch. Awesomeness.
I purchased mine (8926ob) for $64 several weaks ago and have been wearing it dayly ever since. I have a number of "atomic" clocks, including a cassio waveceptor, which I use to set the Invicta. I am really enjoying this watch. Mechanical, no batteries needed. Mine is gaining about 5 sec/day so far, which I understand is OK for a mechanical watch.
I still have many invictas, With Myiota, Seiko, and sellita sw200. They all have excellent quality, if you take care of them they will take care of you. My Mom had one of the original Swiss made for many years in the Canal Zone (Panama). She never had any problems with it. She replaced the leather strap a few times, but the actual watch never had any problem.
I had one and loved the look and feel. Lots of compliments too. It lost about 40 seconds a day and eventually quit all together after about 2 years. It was the Miyota movement. I guess I will try one more time with the Seiko movement. I hate using my phone as a watch.
I like what you have said most guys hate on the invicta pro diver and I've tried to know why but I cannot seem find why nearly all micro brands use the same movement and ask for 200$ and more. I did order myself a pro diver can't wait for it to arrive Thank Bro.
I've had my pro diver for almost 13 years and it finally started having issues. It loses about 50 seconds a day. I bet it just needs a cleaning and it will be fine again. I put this watch through hell! Wore it when I was doing contractor work, concrete, hvac, building demos, mechanic work. The bezel even still looks good, as well as the glass. I purchased this watch for $59 back then and it was my first automatic. I'm getting into watch making and going to learn on it and clean it up. I'm also going to buy another one. Mine has the red/black bezel. Great video btw.
Bought mine in 2021, took the cyclops off and brushed it with a scotch bright pad. Tinkered with regulating it and got it down to -1 to 2 sec/day,leave it face up overnight, nuts on in the morning. Great watch, love mine.
I have the Swiss movement version but i had to changed a few things.. changed the bezel to a high quality ceramic bezel, added a sapphire crystal and changed the bracelet to a full stainless steel with no polish. I love it, it looks great, runs great and it has taken a few bad hits and still 0 scratches, i use it almost every day
Love my Invicta (8935 £80) worn everyday for 3 years, work and leisure no problems. Its a watch that looks good and gives you time what more do you want.
It was also my first mechanical/automatic watch I got it 3 years ago after a lifetime of digital watches (I'm wearing it now) and I've had no problems with it still keeps pretty good time it loses about 12 seconds a day and I still wear it often and it suits all occasions.. One thing I don't like is the cyclops but if I ever change the crystal I can remedy that.. All the invicta hate is just snobbery imo, I'll never have the cash for a Rolex so shelling out for this was a great investment and well worth the money..
2:42 That Invicta was Well Loved! Adventure Time! I am Wearing a 42mm Invicta 29180 right now on a leather STrap, but I want to get myself a 40mm or 38mm.
I have had my invicta steel/gold automatic for 10 years, never had to do anything to it and it still works fine for me even after leaving it lying around for months on end I just shake it and away I go, no issues
I just ordered an invicata pro diver I had been holding off because it looks SO much like a Rolex, but after picking up a 42mm Skeleton watch, I wanted to give it a try as I love other Invicta. As for divers under 70 bucks with an automatic movement that can be worn anywhere. I can't think of any. I love my Casio Duro - but that is a Quartz. The next closest is the Russian Vostock Amphibia - but it would be debatable to wear in a formal occasion. Again getting a NEW one now is difficult as the sanctions are in place. Yea you kinda got a point and I wish I could another better for 70 bucks. My invicata pro diver was 76 on Amazon (84 with tax) ... but again not going to quibble :)
I ordered a pro diver on black friday from Amazon for $75 CDN....Their courier lost the watch so Amazon promptly replaced it......Come delivery day both watches show up.....Amazon said keep both and merry xmas.....not a bad deal!
The better alternative to an Invicta Pro Diver, is another Invicta Pro Diver in another colour scheme 😁 FYI: not all of the NH35A eccenter winding wheels are painted yellow! I have one in yellow, one in plain metal, just engraved with Seiko's TMI markings. It depends what in factory and when they were made
I recently purchased the Pro Diver from Amazon Warehouse for under $65 US. The only thing it's lacking is a sapphire crystal and a ceramic bezel. To get those you'd have to pay more. The watch is extremely hard to beat at the price point.
Before I buy anything, I check for reviews and last few days I've watched a number of reviews regarding the pro-diver Honestly for the price Range, it's a great Watch is the only conclusion and after 5 years if you have good things to say, I'm biting the Bullet and ordering mine today.
Enjoyed your passion regarding this watch so much that I just purchased one!!! Was delivered yesterday and my first impressions are very positive. I agree - I think the yellow counterweight looks great! I am a Tissot fan tbh as I feel they are the best value watches on the planet and value is what consumerism is all about in my opinion. Great review, you got a new subscriber! Greetings from England.
WOW! Thank you so much for being here as part of my big family now! Also big thanks for trusting me and getting the watch!! Enjoy and stay tuned for more to come!!
About 15 years ago I had an invicta watch. It was a quartz watch. I used the watch as a work watch and wore it for about 6 years or so. I never really took care of it and didn't think about it much. I knocked it around. Finally it died. I really abused it. I didn't buy another after that just because I sort of forgot about it. I am like you-I don't like gaudy huge watches. I agree that the Invicta watch can be a very dependable watch for daily wear. No doubt as I owned one. I wouldn't buy a Pro-diver just because there are tons of alternative watches to choose from but that doesn't mean the Pro-diver is not a good watch. For the money its probably a great watch. Not everyone can afford a swiss watch.
Best watch I ever owned. I bout one to wear until I got my 16660 sea dweller after getting it I gave it to a friend on his wedding day and it’s still running to this day .
Truly awesome watch for the price. Two questions Roman: 1. What did you experience regarding this watch movement? Gains/Loss of time. 2. what is the watch you're wearing? thanks
Good questions! 1 - I think the watch keeps great time. I used to wear it every single day for a few years and the watch was very accurate! Now that more time passed and I got some other watches and constantly rotate them, I don't wear the Pro Diver as much but so far I have zero complaints about the movement as it still keeps great time! 2 - In this video I am wearing a Rolex Submariner. Thank you for the questions and for being part of this channel!!
AMEN!!!! This was an incredible review and spot on. Thank you, thank you, thank you for setting the record straight!!!! Loved this video. Others need to take notice... Preach, preach... teach!
I just found one for a price I couldn't refuse. Anxious to check it out. Nice vid, your honesty and passion really come through loud and clear. Subscribed.
I have a quartz Invicta two tone blue watch. I paid $49 for it. It is solidly made. It is no worse than Timex. It looks great . It is small for Invicta . For Invicta is is toned down. Another words it is believable.😊
I'm ordering the sellita SW200 powered diver tomorrow.. ($170 brand spanking new)Turns out its pretty much a different watch.. Case is thinner..bracelet is thicker/heavier with a milled clasp.. It's got "flame fusion crystal" (whatever that is).. I've been wanting a pro diver for YEARS!!.. Had Rollies/Omegas/Breitling but still always fancied these😍 I love the fact people hate them too lol
haha same here 😂 love to wear it in front of people who hate on it for no reason. specially when u ask them what about the watch do they hate and they just get stuck 😂
Good video, I like a video reviewing a watch that you had a number of years to shut the critics🙂. I have the Invicta pro with the Sellita Swiss movement, very impressed with the overall quality.
You make some valid points, particularly when you spotlight all the other watches clearly inspired by the Rolex Sub My issue with the Pro Diver is the "Invicta" name obnoxiously carved into the side of the case, which is an assault on the eyes. The Invicta 1953 eschews this inexplicable detail. For that reason alone I'd be more inclined to buy the 53.
I never really pay attention to the Invicta on the side of mine guess it just don't bother me. But out of curiosity if Rolex was to emblazon their name on the side would people be so inclined to call it tacky?
@@chadchambliss4949 Wholly different situation. Considering they dominate the market, adding that to the side would have less of a negative than Invicta doing it. But it begs the question, would they do that in the first place? Their traditions with the sub date back to 1953 so differing sensibilities for sure then. Not likely they would add that now as one of the things that has put them where they are is having a sense of style and class associated to the brand. Having said that, they have added the same embossing to the current subs around where the chapter ring would be. Decidedly less tacky there though, and I suspect added like that under the crystal to lend it an appearance of authenticity. I'm sure it took no time at all for the counterfeiters to add it to theirs. 🙄🙄🤣🤣
I just bought this watch. Purple on blue my 2 favorite colors. It's a beast. I am a humble construction worker and NOT A "WATCH GUY" and this thing is Perfect 👌. No battery and it is not a Rolex if I lost or broke a Rolex at work I'd be looking for blood and I'd be a dumba$$ for wearing it to work in the first place lol
Love my pro diver, can’t beat the price, and great quality!! Very durable, and hold up well!! I am very active, rough, the only thing I wish, is that they have an option to come with a sapphire crystal, as the mineral scratches way too easily. ..I do my own oil changes and maintenance on all my vehicles, and I never take my watch off..working on car, or taking shower, or going to bed..my watch stays on.
This video was welcome for me. I bought the Invicta during Prime Day last autumn and was surprised by what I received for the price. I love the watch, but couldn't believe that it would have longevity for such a low cost. So far, so good. And this video makes me feel that I can expect to enjoy my watch for some time to come. Thanks! Liked and subscribed...
The Invicta pro diver was my very first automatic watch that my mom bought me for my birthday years ago and I absolutely love it! I unfortunately wore it to the beach and the crystal needs to be cleaned it’s fogged up a bit and the hands stick a bit even when I shake it to move energy I haven’t worn it for a while. I’ve been wanting it fixed to look like new and work like new but haven’t because I’m thinking it will be expensive o repaire
I have a Seiko 5 but prefer my invicta because the Seiko seems a little small on my wrists and the invicta fits amazing. I totally agree invicta is the best watch under $100. Great video
My Invicta is the quartz. I choose it over the automatic because it is under 40mm. I can let this watch set for a month and pick it up and it is going. It is my cheap watch. The rest of my watches are Vintage Omega watches which at manual wind or automatic.
Love your honest evaluation of the Invicta Pro Diver. I also owned the Grand Diver and it is fantastic. Now a days you have to be very careful wearing a Rolex in public.
I agree with you. I own one and I have tested it in the sea and in a pool. It just resisted all the time I was swimming. Invicta watches are great and just as you, I started to know about watches with a pro diver
This is the watch that got me into watch collecting it's hard to beat this pro Diver for what it cost. I have watches that cost many times more but i don't think they are that much better
I got a 9094 as a watch to practice modding on. (I really didn't like the Invicta dial, and the bracelet even less.) That being said, even after multiple dial changes it still is working just fine, even though it looks nothing like the original. It is a fun watch to wear, and I know I can switch the NH35 movement at any time if I wanted to. Talking about the SNK, the finish of the watch is better, sometimes distinctly better based on the time of SNK you get. The movement of the SNK (7s26) is however inferior to the NH35.
I got the Cookie Monster one 😂. If I find the hulk and the Starbucks colors, I’m selling them 😂, Literally can’t find those colors anywhere no more.???!!!! Pro diver automatic. Swiss moment 💯
I've had mine for about two years now. In the first year, as an experiment I never hand wound the watch. After a few days of giving another watch a bit of love I would give it a few shakes to wake it up, set the time and put it on my wrist. No need to wind it ever.
Roman In my experience, most Grand Divers are 300 meters Water Resistant while most Pro Divers 200 meters Water Resistant,Most Grand Divers are thicker and Heavier than Pro Divers but BOTH start at about 38 millimeters Diameter now if Automatic!(some quartz proDivers start at 37 millimeters!
Another great video bro. This is the reasons I buy homage watches from Pagani for every day wear at work. Great build and durability that I won’t scare if they get scuffed and scratched.
My two favorite beaters are the Invicta pro diver mechanical automatic, and the Casio Duro which is Quartz only but has a analog dial. Both watches are very durable even tho neither has a sapphire crystal. For the money you simply cannot beat either of these watch’s. I’m not a dress watch guy. I’m blue collar all the way. I work hard, I play hard, and I abuse anything on my wrist. That’s why I would never own a Rolex, Tudor or Omega. No one in their right mind would subject those expensive brands to the kind of abuse I dish out to my watches on a daily basis. Most people don’t buy a diver to go diving. They buy it because divers are tough and reliable. As stated several times in this video, it’s all about durability. The NH35 movement is a Seiko designed 3rd party movement used by cottage industry brands all over the world. It’s a reliable movement. Invicta saw the value in the the NH35 movement and chose it for all of their mechanical dive watches.
My ten year old Pro Diver was beginning to run slow, around a five minutes a week. Not worth servicing it, so I bought a new one this week for £70 GBP. Sold my old one on EBay for £30. Cost of ownership for ten years, £4 per year. Just had my vintage Omega Seamaster serviced. Cost £500. For the money there is nothing to touch Invicta. I have Omega, Longines, Ebel, Baumé and Mercier, and Seiko watches. What do I wear most days? Invicta. Rolex are great, but who wants to get mugged. No one ever got mugged for their Invicta!
I bought a 9937 Invicta Diver back in 2006. It had a swiss movement and a sapphire crystal, which doesn't seem to be available anymore. Beautiful, reliable watch. Unfortunately for me, it was stolen.
I enjoy wearing the Pro divers from Invicta's I got to many Invicta's one with swiss movements, two with the swiss made, 3rd Nh35 ,and the new one just came out 2 years ago 1953 ,great value money always comes back to this one...I halmilton, seikos , citizens Zodiac, I said again and again leave the hate behind...
This is my second "decent" watch that I bought (which is not really seen as cheap in my country since the average salary is quite low and the watch is more expensive than in the US or so), and I really like it. And I love the fact that it annoys watch snobs. If someone talks badly about this watch then I don't much care about their opinion on watches. People need to start seeing the product apart from the brand. The movement is great and reliable, the looks are nice and come in a lot of variations and the value for money is great. I was hesitant to pick it up after reading some reviews but now I realize that half of them bought this and expected Rolex quality for under 100 bucks. I really love mine, got it in the all gold, champagne dial "douchebag trim" as I like to call it. Looks really nice out in the sunlight.
What watch are you wearing? Is that a Rolex sub? I wish you would have compared the 2 watches on camera. Unless of course you are saving the Rolex for a future vid. Looking forward to that review.
Hi, nice video. I love watches, mainly I own Casio digital watches, G-Shocks, Seikos and one Omega Seamaster. I love that Omega but honestly … the Invicta Pro Diver is getting the most wrist time of all my automatic watches. it’s a super accurate, well finished and good looking watch. And if in worst case if you bump it against anything by accident you destroy 80 EUR. I would die if I destroy or damage my Omega or a 300 EUR Seiko … sounds strange but yea, in my day to day life I relay on my Invicta and only on special occasions I wear the expensive pieces. So from my point, nothing bad with Invicta. That’s just the way I think about 👍🏻
I completely agree. The watch that introduced me to automatic watches is an Invicta pro diver. My first was purchased in 2009 and came with the Miyota movement. It's still running great today. When they changed the movement over to the hacking NH35A, I had to buy another one. Even though I now own watches 100x the price of the good old pro diver, I still proudly wear my 8926OB any day. I've done all things to my watch, such as swapping various aftermarket sub bezel inserts, slapped on leather bands and nato straps; it's amazingly versatile. Last month when I went on a cruise, I re-lubricated the crown and caseback gaskets and took it with me to use in the swimming pool and hot tub with confidence. I believe many watch snobs bash the Invicta pro diver because it can do so much for so little $$$. Just like you, I highly doubt anyone could find another comparable 200m dive watch with what is essentially a Seiko 4R35 movement inside at this $75 price point from an established wristwatch manufacturer.
I think the invicta diver you have is a good value. The reason people"hate" it is due to what the brand has become over time. If you look at the other invicta offerings they make novelty watches children or clowns wear. This one doesn't fall under that category but others do. It's like saying "why do people hate Mc Donalds food?" when all you eat is their salad.
My first Pro Diver actually has a Miyota movement in it! It also has the scalloped bezel al a Omega. Still a very cool watch. I have an all gold one with black dial and the two-tone silver/gold with the amazing blue dial. It is hard to find another dial with a prettier blue and sunburst!
Loved the video and you have valid points, however I would choose the seiko snk800. I owned the watch for a couple of years as well and was wearing it day in and day out. I found it very durable but classy at the same time! 👍 Keep up the good work!! 💯💯
You've said a lot about this watch, but not everything! I have this watch for a year and I use it mainly (that's why it is made) to have the time and if possible the exact time and it is possible After I have regulated it (1 week of adjustments without time grapher) it gives no more than one second every three days when it is on the wrist (found the sweet spot !) Thank's Seiko NH35 .. good movement So I think that's one more thing to mention BTW the lume is poor but no probs .. the night I sleep ! Better than a Rolex ?? LOL
