Bubble gum? What are you talking about? It opens fruity & tart, with the salty zingy aqua mid, and a 12+ hour sexy ambroxan bomb. Longest lasting scent i've ever own. The 2016 is refreshing, intoxicating and Iconic without annoying modern candy vibes. This reminds me of the early 2000's. Hands down one of the best scents I own and I have all the iconic legends.
the new invictus aqua was reformulated and not as good as the previous, so I bought the original Invictus instead which has consistent scent, longevity and projection is a beastmode….
Your review is on point. I have a vague recollection of the 2016 release, I own the 2018 formulation which is definitely more wearable, the reduced performance is a worthwhile trade-off. Paco Rabanne, I own 1 Million, I have an order of 1 Million Lucky & a pending delivery of XS (2018). 🤦♂️
Great review bro. I agree with you about the headache inducing smell from 2016. It works like sauvage for me. I dont like the smell as the wearer but everyone around me seems to like it. I personally prefer MB Legend Spirit followed closely by 2018/Hawas. 👍

I was having regrets of not being able to grab the 2016 version of Invictus Aqua. I have the 2018 one but I find it too sweet and playful. At least your inputs kind of put my mind at rest thinking that at least I had the better release. Ayoko sa sobrang tapang na pabango. Maganda yung swabe lang. Subscribed!
If you find the 2018 version too sweet and playful then you won't like the 2016 version. I own a bottle of the 2016 version near full - maybe only around 10 to 15 sprays have been used (at tops maybe 5 ml) and it is much more synthetic, sweeter and more ambroxan heavy. The bubblegum note is more suttle than OG Invictus, you have the very prominent sea water notes (aldehydes I presume?) and a small dose of sourness from the pink pepper. The violet leaf amplifies the sea water accord and smooths the fragrance out. The ambroxan gives it a very piercing sour salty smell. Way more sweet and youthful than the 2016. More synthetic as well
