Eve vs her siblings was easily the best fight this show has produced by far. Intense, well animated, and very creative with the power usage. Hope we get to see her pop off like that again.
I hope we just get this level of animation at least one more time in season 2. Because so far it feels like they blew their whole budget of season 2 on this one fight. This episode raised my hype for season 2 so much just for it to seemingly be downgraded from season 1. HOWEVER episode 5 had some good animation back up to at least season 1's standard, so there is still hope that they've been cooking behind the scenes for the last few episodes.
Imagine them watching one of the great Lance Reddick’s last roles without seeing the wire. Its a shame. THEM AND THE MAJORITY OF THE WAVE RIDERS HAVE NO IDEA. If you want to culture yourselves and actually watch a thought provoking show, watch the FUCKING WIRE. (Or Succession and Severance) You do not know television until you’ve seen these!
Here is the real tragedy. For a moment Eve overcame her living tissue limit. In that moment she could have saved and restored her mother, but she was so overcome by her anger and vengeance to think of it. I think in the comic this was based on she realizes that afterwards.
Could she and should she though? Could she because Eve might be able to repair her mother's body but she suffered brain damage 15 years ago. Can Eve find and rebuild her memories. Should she? For the past 15 years imagine the horrific things they did to her? Would she want to remember?
Damn, I haven't even considered that. Well as tragic as it is, if any good came out from the end, it was her wiping Erickson's & that other scientist's memories of Eve and everything involving her, Brandyworth, or her mom. And because of that, no longer would these horrific experiments happen again.
@@michaelgualtieri651in the comics I think she kill them, or give brain death to them, so they become vegetables lol, ngl, they kinda of deserved it in the comics. In the show, she shows more restraint I guess
27:27 In her comics after the scene where her parents died, she says with tears in her eyes: "For one moment I had the power. I could have fixed it. ..I could have brought you back. But I used it for revenge instead. ..I'm sorry mom and dad. ..I love you." Maybe the could have kept those lines, for an even greater impact. Also, as her last standing brother dissolves, he says (in her comics) "...They don't care about us now. ..Now they have you. ..Goodbye, Eve." right before he disintegrates. Maybe they could have kept that line as well.
Yeah I often wonder why they change some of the best dialogue from the comic like I get the show wants to be the same but different but why change the parts that worked?
They never explicitly say it, but my crackpot fan theory: I have the impression that the Dad noticed at some point that Eve doesn't really look much like him or his wife, and part of the reason he's so bitter and always has the most hostile take is because he suspects she's the product of an affair, and he's never dealt with that.
@@Celestia282 Old comment but wanted to add something of my own. While I could certainly understand the affair theory I do agree that it's probably just dad being upset his daughter is intelligent (more than he his as well) and he's meant to have old world values of kids just being quiet and obeying. I do disagree with the toxic masculinity thing though and would say it's more of a toxic parenting thing. The matriarchs in a family can also fall victim to having a kid that's smarter than them and being upset by it. No one likes to feel stupid after all.
Eve basically Wolverined their brain after Striker got him. Either blocked the memory or destroyed and rebuilt the synapses to bring back a 404 Not Found. But yeah... she erased their memories. That's her "unlocked" mode where she could've turned them into cats if she wanted. At least that's what's implied.
Calvin asked, the voice of Killcannon is Fred Tatasciore. He has been in basically everything, if you've played a game or watched animation his voice was in it.
At the end you can really see the internal conflict manifest within Omni Man/ Nolan. He had millennia being brought up in a rough culture, but that’s conflicting with his experiences (though short) on Earth.
what a surprise!! finished the comic a while back and its INCREDIBLE its like the one piece of superheroes. you guys are gonna love where this story goes!
If this was a standalone movie on Invincible, it would work so well. I already loved Atom, but this gave her so much depth. Always love a good side character in any show.
That Bridge Fight scene is one of the best i have seen in Superhero media. The camera movements, the camera angle, the music, the choreography, everything abt that scene was ........chef's kiss.
I love that this episode took the time to give Eve the spotlight, keeping the crazy gore mostly out given that Mark gets hours of development+ gore, Eve had one episode and they had to make it worth it, it was funny but also heartbreaking, would love to see her have more of a role in the future
I mean I would be freaked out too. I mean you haven’t practiced with this power for real and the ball of light is really close to me. Like let’s go practice in an open field or something first before you chase me with your powers.
Not to mention the literal creator said Eve was the most powerful by the end of the comic and could beat mark if she wasn’t a pacifist. Eves power set is cooler than marks but mark has better fights (excluding this episode)
1:33 Fun fact: Queen Lizard is voiced by Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk), who you absolutely NEED to see in Orphan Black! She delivered some of the greatest performances of the past two decades on that show. I hope it makes it onto the next tv show poll.
I find it so hilarious how in almost every superhero movie civilian drivers don't see the shit-show going on in front of them and just drive head-on into their own death
Wtf first time i realized, green ghost is a man in the past, did an operation happen or its just that the green stone gives power to anyone who takes it? 🧐
why don't they ever think it's smart to watch stuff more then once or do rewatch cause thru don't remember anything in any show ever and still write notes??
@@Salik96 Exactly, but I legit thought this before S2. Nolan is a murdering psychopath but he's been encouraging and supportive of his son (until duty got in the way). Eve's Dad is just a pathetic excuse for a parent, with nothing preventing him from just being better
@@TheJerbolIt's different to talk about their parenting (which in this case I agree with you), and them as a whole/people (then I agree with tonystonem).
The episode is cool, but Eve is way too strong to be really invested, with being able to create pretty much everything she's probably stronger than Omniman. Also she's not that smart, like if she stopped being a hero she could solve world hunger or advance medicine.
No! The lizard league is lame! We shouldn’t see more of them. They don’t deserve to fight the current Guardians. Not even the weaker ones, they’d chew them up and spit them out. Boo lizard league
