This show (and comic) tries to explore the complicated realities of superhero life without being your typical “what if but evil or edgy” story. Hence why it has the visuals of your classic action cartoon but pushes the violence and themes into rough territory.

Here is what makes this show unique from other superhero media: The combat tactics and damage are always as realistic as possible, the teams actually fight effectively to their strengths, it’s neither naive or edgy about superheroing, and the story has a perfect beginning, middle, and end for all characters involved

You trying not to be grossed out by all of the gore, and simultaneously like "I love this show, I have to binge this" is so damn relatable. 😆

The craziest part about when Omni-Man went to the Flaxans dimension, is that for us/Earth it took hours at most, but for the Flaxans it was weeks, maybe even months of non-stop destruction and fear.

How eve explains her “secret identity” makes extreme sense and explains the whole “Clark Kent” alter ego. Nobody is going to go to work at a newpaper and go “oh yeah Clark Kent is superman because they look alike, same way nobody is going to go to algebra class and assume “oh that must be atom Eve she’s a redhead too”

YES. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HYPE I AM FOR THIS SERIES. its for real my favorite comic book of all time and the show is doing justice to it so far. its only gonna get crazier.

The Guardians of the Globe were the strongest team of superheroes on a planet filled with many. Omni-man killing them all in seconds is absolutely insane.

The comic creator wanted the guardians to basically be Rip-offs of their DC counterparts in order to lure the audience into a false sense of familiarity. Which makes Omni-man's attack that much more shocking.

Everybody needs a friend like William. Most people get confused when comparing characters with other series. Omniman isn't Superman, Mark is.

I think you will love the journey, gore and all. Episode 1 first gives us the standard superhero tropes, then breaks them at the end as Omni-Man breaks the Guardians of the Globe. Crushing Red Rush's head took less than a second but to RR felt like hours.

The end of the first episode is always really fun to see others react to 😂

I watch Invincible in like late 2021 and I was not expecting it to be brutal and I was like “DAMN this show is built different”. Haven’t watch season 2 yet but I will and I just got into watching The Boys Season 1.

You wanna know why Omni-Man killed the Guardians of the Globe? Because he got tired waiting for getting the pictures of Spider-Man.

In the comics I think the DC's Justice League had a more fixed Iconic line up than Marvel's Avengers (which changed much more often), so you see The Guardians in this show & the 7 in the Boys look much more like the Justice League, helps us understand their powers, character etc much more quickly. Love this show (& the comic), you made me laugh saying how good a Dad Omni Man was just before he punched Mark, still makes me chuckle!

Well yeah. If you can fly at near light speed or teleport anywhere you want, then going to Germany for breakfast is just another Teusday. The REAL question is why would you NOT do that? Am I right?? If I right now could teleport and be back in 3 minutes, then I am absolutely going to Toronto to buy one of those Polish sausages on a bun; or going to find out for myself if NYC REALLY has the best sliced pizza venders in the Country. So a cool little detail, the reason Omni-Man comes back with facial hair is because his body is running at "Earth Time" in their dimension so each second is like a day for his body He has to get the job done quickly or he'll die of old age too (this isn't at all how time dilation works, but it makes sense within the rules they set up) Which also means he exterminates the planet within a matter of minutes. He's moving so fast that he's causing a sonic boom, not of sound but of fusion reactions which wipes out the planet

Yeah so this is based on a comic created by Robert Kirkman who also created the Walking Dead comic hence the Gore. Mark aka Invincible is voiced by Steven Yeun from TWD series. Also the entire Guardians of the Globe team were all cast members from TWD.

Always funny watching people freak out when Nolan kills Guardians of the Globe or wipes out that entire alien planet. I am probably one of the few that is laughing at how weak they are and cheering for Nolan as he wipes them all out. He's like almost like Frieza, has no problem wiping out entire planets and slaughtering millions. Only big difference is Frieza has a better sense of humor and Nolan is more like a emotionless machine.

It's good to her Mark Hamill voicing Art the hero costume maker. He is my favorite Joker voice actor.

What I like in this show is that it replies, from the very first episode, to the question "if superman went berserk, what would happen ?" Obviously he wouldn t be stopped that easily, and the fantasy fight "batman vs superman" would be some unilateral massacre. That s what I like in this show, heroes powers are really dangerous, and they are destructive. Mark isn t the real hero of the show, most of the time. He s just part of a way bigger story, and that s cool.

The first nineteen minutes of your reaction was quite a rollercoaster for you. I remember thinking about the same thing Warner brothers did with Henry Cavill "Superman with a moustache? No good can come from this." but I didn't think they'd dial it up to eleven like that. Going in blind to the show I honestly thought we were going to get something similar to Superman's scenario in Injustice. Makes me wish I could experience that WTF moment for the first time again. Hope you made it through the show in one piece.

This series has a lot of excellent actors besides J. K. Simmons; Amber is played by Zazie Beetz, who played Domino in Deadpool 2, Mark Hamill is the tailor that makes Mark's suit, Cecil is played by Walton Goggins, who was the comic relief villian in Antman and Wasp, Rex Splode is Jason Mantzoukas - Derek in The Good Place. And of course, whenever you need a deep, growly voice, like Damien Darkblood, you hire Clancy Brown (The Kurgan in Highlander, Capt. Hadley in The Shawshank Redemption). And Allen is Seth Rogan, who originally signed up to direct when Invincible was going to be a movie.

Crazy to think that since Viltrumites get stronger with age... and time travels faster in that other dimension.. Omni-Man basically got a free months-long power boost in a couple hours, max.

I am genuinely not certain which show I like best out of Invincible and The Boys - both show an element of "Superheroes" that shows them not always being on the good side, but they both go about it in different ways, and tell very different stories.

It's normal to assume that Eve's explanation for why no knows she's a hero just "kinda" makes sense ... Until you remember that Henry Cavill once stood in front of a Superman billboard in Superman costume for hours, and not a single person recognized him.

There's a channel I came across a while back that had a series of videos that explained why you would NOT want certain superpowers. Now for the most part, he wasn't entirely wrong. All of his point in the "con" column were valid. But they assumed the premise that the powers are suddenly given with NO build up and NO ability to control them. Like flight for example: the video went into great detail about the friction that the wind would have on someone's face as they speed around through the air at Mach Speeds. All are true, BUT that negates the very likelihood that the body of the person who can fly develops certain natural resistances. Super strength: you would start just breaking everything you come into contact with right?? Well yes, if you have the brain of a goldfish and NO intelligence or common sense whatsoever. You would obviously learn how to use the force necessary to interact with the world. but yes Flying and Teleportation are MY main powers to want. With maybe being 3 times as strong. I'm not that greedy when it comes to strength. Just enough to look good without a shirt. lol. Also if I didn't have like really huge super strength, then I'd want a power that I can manifest and project. Maybe some kind of elemental manipulation; and there are MANY.
