And if you don't mind spoilers, it's very easy to find. Especially now that people are asking this question and whole articles are being created about Donald's story and explaining the situation.

Several Maulers are already holding Mark so throwing the Maulers punching Mark into a portal wont stop the beating. If Angstrom was thinking clearly, he really should've at the start thrown a portal in front of Mark to where he's flying too. That way Mark is totally neutralized into another dimension. But then again, Angstrom and Maulers have to deal with the Guardians after Mark so yeah there is like zero chance his memory transplant plan would work.
