I got Invisalign when I was a teen, and after a few months, I BEGGED my parents to switch me to braces. Thankfully, my mom is a dental hygienist, so switching really didn't cost them much money. They were SO much more comfortable, and I didn't feel as self-conscious wearing the braces.

I absolutely relate. I had braces for about 2 years and now I wear Invisalign every night. The Invisalign isn’t too bad but the braces SUCKED

I had braces. I had an expander, too. It gave me a migraine every time it was widened. I still hav scars in my mouth from it all. It sucked donkey nuts.

Lmao! Funny stuff in this rant! I had braces as a kid and decided to do braces again as an adult because of all the things you’ve mentioned about Invisalign. I kind of wanted to get it over with without having to keep up with any responsibilities so the braces worked out for me, and I was happy with the decision.

PSA: Do not give children braces!* Bodies don't stop growing until after after 18, and this includes your jaw and mouth. This means that not only will your teeth likely get messed up again afterwards, but it will also cause trauma on teeth. The number one cause of gum recession is trauma. Myself and my best friend both had braces as children and in both cases the the amount of money spent repairing the long term damage they caused on teeth and gums has been absurd. Bottom line: *unless a child actually needs braces as a preventative measure [to avoid future damage], wait until you're an adult to make cosmetic teeth corrections. My 2¢

My teeth were crooked horizontally and vertically so I had to get traditional braces. Guess when I did that? At age 26 when I went to college for a bachelor's degree. Old and braces around 19 year olds in college. Great judgement call on my part. I wear a retainer at night too. Best decision I ever made though. Painful? Yes. Long? Yes. Worthy of a rant? Yes. Thank you!

I’m on week six; I hardly notice them anymore. A bit of getting used to for playing (trombone and tuba) but I’m adapting.

This is a case where you yourself were probably the only person on planet Earth that felt you teeth were not amazing on the videos. I always felt they weren't to shabby at all from what I see.
