i have so many questions i don't know where to begin

My pigeon is so friendly and loving one day, and then the next he treats me like enemy number one and will only go to my partner.

I really want to learn more about the behavior and language. I want to understand my domestic pigeon more 🕊️ You had a video about it and it helped me a lot! (sorry for mistakes)

Do you have any advice on how to train a pigeon that lives in an apartment? (I taught my pigeon 3 commands😊)

Question: Is there a way I can help my local feral pigeons? My downtown area has feral pigeons but you can be fined if you feed them as the council considers them pests. Asking to put live traps on a business roof got me a lot of weird stares and "No. I pay for monthly pest control for a reason." which made me squint. All I ever see are bird spikes. There are two pigeon rescues that I can find online in the USA. One is on the opposite coast from me and the other is sort of within driving distance but they post "local adoption only" on nearly every single one. I've looked at Stromberg's breeder site but I'd rather not go that route. Thank you for your continued hard work and dedication to piges. You've inspired me to (try) go pigeon lady too! :)

How do pigeons in the wild breed and split up duties to do with egg sitting and feedings? How long until the baby pigeon is self sufficient? My mated pigeons spend almost all time together. I keep 2 outdoor pigeons, or do they keep me? 🕊

Do you have any tips on teaching the bird to fly to you? My wife and I have Ringneck doves and they’re sitting on a feral pigeon egg I bought from a guy who has racers but has his Ferals come in with the racers and stay in his loft. Her and I plan on hand feeding it after day 5 or so, after eyes open and want to give all of its meals to it from hand so it’s close to us. We want to free fly while we’re out and about so really any tips there would be helpful

Are there general differences between the behaviors of feral pigeons and the smaller doves? I have a Eurasian collared rescue dove and he is very affectionate with me, but also very aggressive with mirrors and anything I move , especially cups/glasses (do ferals have this too?) + I was hoping to partner him with a stuffed toy but he doesn't give those any attention at all. It seems feral pigeons are easier to partner with cuddly toys?

We rescued a baby pigeon ( rock pigeon). It was about 1 month old. It really bonded with me from the beginning, but about 2 weeks ago it started to act totally obsessed with my husband and started to show aggressive behavior towards me. It is about 7 months old now. We think it's a girl but hasn't laid eggs yet. Do you think her behavior towards me will improve with time?

Hello, I have a question. I have a young male pigeon. He has no mate, he thinks I am his mate. Is he sad because he does not have a pigeon mate? I also wonder what it does to pigeons psychologically to have their eggs replaced with fake ones every month and they never get to have babies. Thank you

Do you have tips on how to get a pet pigeon to step on ones hand to be carried around? When i need to relocate my pigeon I ofter need to gently push away his feet until he eventually steps on my palm. I'm afraid this might be a stressful situation for him although he generally enjoys being carried around.

I got a pair of adult pigeons and even though I've had them for four months they still seem nervous and wary of me. I clipped their flights to try to hand tame them but they panic when I put my hand anywhere near them. Any advice? :(

So glad i found you! I am new to pigeons, having had chickens in the past. My question is, my female Archangel (has mate) is in the nest a lot, feathers quaking slightly at times, acting as though it's broody. The male is sticking very close to her. I got them on the 22 of December. Today they allowed my hand very close to them, and I could touch them but he was still a bit defensive. The two of them kept huddled together without moving out of the way of my hands. I have been gently offering my hands to them, and not just grabbing them up, trying to allow them to develop trust of me. I'm afraid to just grab her up because if she's eggbound, I could make things worse. The two frillbacks laid an egg on the first. SHe's on it now, 7 days to go.
