Dining with Afghan Locals: An Invitation to a Traditional Feast!
Join us on an unforgettable culinary adventure as we explore the rich flavors and warm hospitality of Afghanistan! In this video, we were graciously invited into the home of a local family for a traditional Afghan lunch. Experience firsthand the beauty of Afghan culture, as we share a meal filled with love, laughter, and incredible dishes.
During our visit, we were treated to a variety of authentic Afghan foods, including delicious Bolani-savory stuffed flatbreads filled with potatoes and herbs-and Ashak, delicate dumplings typically filled with leeks and served with a mouthwatering garlic sauce. Each dish was made with fresh ingredients and prepared with traditional recipes passed down through generations. Our hosts proudly shared their culinary secrets, making this experience even more special.
As we sat around the table, we not only savored the delicious flavors but also engaged in heartfelt conversations about Afghan customs, traditions, and daily life. The warmth of our hosts made us feel like part of the family, and we were grateful for their hospitality. This lunch was more than just a meal; it was a glimpse into the vibrant culture of Afghanistan.
In addition to the food, we enjoyed a selection of refreshing local drinks that perfectly complemented our meal. The entire experience was a testament to the spirit of community and togetherness that is so central to Afghan life.
Whether you’re a food lover, a travel enthusiast, or simply curious about different cultures, this video offers a unique perspective on Afghan hospitality and cuisine. I bet those guys that invited them, did not make this food. I myself cook most of our food for the wife and 4 girls. Greetings from Finland 🎉

In Afghan homes it's mostly the women who do the cooking. Afghan men do know how to cook though!

@@thekaren1111 When did I mention anything about women in the US?? I am not here to engage in any discussions or negativity. All i mentioned was that it was the Afghan women at home who did the cooking and the men served the food to the guests!

@thekaren1111 What's your problem? Who is gaslighting me or you? I am.a peaceful person and prefer to stay away from all negativity. I only replied to a comment made by a guy who mentioned that he can bet those Afghan guys did not cook the food, to which I replied yes they didn't because its the afghan women who do the cooking at home. As God is my witness my intentions was only to explain about Afghan culture! because most people who have never lived in Afghanistan nor visited have no clue about Afghan culture. Btw Afghan men also know to cook food for their families and nothing wrong with a man cooking!!!

Great video. It reminds me as to how difficult it would be to host the lads in America. Many Americans fantisize about inviting the lads into their homes (with well intentioned generosity). It would be difficult not to overwhelm them. This video was a nice dose of reality. [edited only to correct my poor grammer]

A very good video Thanks for choosing my friend as your guide
@AhmadAli-ez8db
@AhmadAli-ez8db День назад
Your friend sucks as a guide because he lacks knowledge about Afghan culture and the country itself. A guide should provide insightful historical context about sites, food, and cultural practices. Instead, he stands there looking disengaged, as if he’s been forced into the role. He should be interacting with tourists, who are often unfamiliar with the country and its culture. By engaging with them and offering a better service, he could attract more visitors.

Women are excluded even in their own homes. It's very sad.
@RobertCharles-i1k

What's sad is how close minded you are. Not everyone in the world aspires to appropriate your culture. How many of your "civilized" neighbors, despite your high GDP, are willing to invite tourists they've never met, into their home for dinner? I don't think these guys have ever been as welcomed and appreciated, by the locals, in any of their other journeys.

@@RobertCharles-i1k Both things are true. Afghan culture is amazingly welcoming and we in the West could learn a lot from that culture of hospitality. As a woman, it also feels excruciating to know women prepared all that delicious food, but have NO CHOICE but to be invisible to their guests and to the wider world.

@@RobertCharles-i1k What's sad is how closed minded you are. Not every person in prosperous nations fit the narrative that you try to espouse. I know and have met many people who live in nations with a high GDP (not sure what that has to do with anything but apparently this is the defining factor for you) that would gladly invite a tourist from another nation to enjoy a meal at their home. I find it quite sad that you choose to surround yourself with people who would act this way only to then proclaim that your insignificant experiences define the nature of entire nations.

@@RobertCharles-i1k funny how u bring up completely irrelevant and also false whataboutisms to derail from the fact that women are super oppressed there. Them being welcoming to these MALE tourists and their govt actively oppressing women and other marginalized groups can both be true at the same time.
