Feb 2020... Still listening to INXS, love this band ! Always did. Since the beginning. Was lucky enough to see them live in Sydney in 1992, while studying English. Miss them, miss Michael so much!!!
I was a PA on this music video. It was shot in an abandoned steel mill at one of their tour stops. The director wanted lots of flickering light reflected onto stage with things like shaken Mylar sheets. My job was to dig a reflecting pool in front of the stage which lights would shine in to, and make waves on the water during the takes. To make the waves, I connected some stands in an L shape with a board clamped at the end. I could wiggle the top of the L and the board at the other end would wiggle, making waves. There was nothing between me and the stage other than the camera dolly, so for three hours Michael was looking at the camera, and me wiggling this pointless contraption. At the end of the night they shot closeups of the other band members and didn’t need him, so he came down and wiggled my wave making contraption for me. Before each take the director would yell Camera! Flicky Flicky Flicky! Action! He was an Australian who wore overalls with no shirt and Moon Boots.
I was on that shoot too and remember you making the wave contraption. The director thought it was genius. I thought the Director came from London eastern suburbia rather than Australian. I had to be a stand in at one point and 'dance' to the darn music and he mocked me for dancing at a disco!! I
@@thesundog8833 Yeah, the song is featured in the beginning of BHC III. INXS was never asked by their record company to release this song, only MCA records (I believe) asked them to release this song. This song is a hidden gem for real.
Thank you RU-vid for recommending this video to me. I am a lifelong INXS fan and I have seen BHC 3 so many times but have NEVER heard this song. As usual, INXS did not disappoint! Adding this song to my playlists!
также,будучи давней поклонницей группы , впервые через Ютюб узнала эту песню, раскопала альбом Майкла maxsq , все как одна ,супер, приятно было услышать его новые песни для меня
This song doesn't get the credit it deserves.. one of the best movie theme songs from the 90's. Sadly BHC 3 bombed and it got buried undeservingly much like the songs Smashing Pumpkins did for Batman and Robin (this song also had 2 versions like SP's song did.) The movie used the faster version but honestly this slowed down version's more badass imo.
Tyler Beamer You are sooooooooooo correct. Man, Michael Hutchence and the rest of the INXS band got down on this song. To this day, the soundtrack for this movie is seriously forgotten. People only remember BHC III for how bad it did at the box office in 1994, or as a movie Eddie shouldn't have signed on for.
@@gmcneoplan84 --I think that INXS should be in the Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame personally. I didn't even listen to their music back in the day. I was in Boulder, CO. If it was dubbed POP MUSIC the best radio station in the world. Wouldn't have ever played INXS. I found them one year ago. They were a very hard-working Rock n Roll band. With just an incredibly great Front-Man.
Michael was a god. He was a gorgeous and amazingly talented man. He was the best front man to ever walk this earth. He was taken from us way too soon... I miss him so much... R.I.P. , Hutch. Your memory and legacy live on forever. You'll never be forgotten. You were the best.
Hadn't played this for a while either. One of the best INXS tracks not to grace an actual CD but a soundtrack album instead. Damn but Hutch is rather good in this video!. Now THAT'S how to put in a performance and I still love that line about "Are you a lover or a fighter?!".
Wow! Only just discovered there existence of this video. It's fascinating from a style point of view. Kirk, Garry, Andrew and Jon all still seem to be very much in the 'Full Moon, Dirty Hearts' era (an aesthetic high point for the band). Michael appears to have moved on to the 'Strangest Party' era (trimmed his hair, lighter coloured clothing). Tim, most eye-catchingly, appears to have braided his hair! Just a shame their performance is intercut with clips from the woeful film.
Yeah, that's because this song was never released as a single for INXS or for the Beverly Hills Cop III soundtrack. It was just featured on the BHC II soundtrack. Not too much promotion or nothing in the 1994-1995 period for what is a darn good song.
Watching this video and listening to this song over the years makes me kind of sad, because Michael Hutchence was a talented son of a gun with so much more chapters to write in his musical career. But that man had demons inside of him that was hard for him to beat, of which ended his life in 1997.
@@cathsalazar9930 --Also, my first time to hear it. Right now. I like it, & I like it much better than much of the music I hear on the radio today. I hate to sound unhip, but I just can't get into Justin Bieber.

Michael pulled a little Elvis martial arts thing there at the end, didn't he? SO much hotter than Presley in a jumpsuit!!! (Not knocking the King, though.)
***** I had several of these kind of shirts, but I would have loved exactly one like Michael's ... oh well he's got savoir fair in everything he ever wore ♥
It just crossed my mind again the other day there. And I just remembered where I first saw it, at the end of an episode of Cinema, Cinema, Cinema (Which, for people who don't know was a US top ten movie countdown show) that was broadcast at the time late at night in the UK.
