Michael wrote these song lyrics for his girlfriend Michelle - the only woman he said he had considered marrying. Michael rang her the morning he died and she did go to try to see him at the hotel but he never answered 😢
Yes. Will say it a thousand times, she was his one "True" love. They actually resembled each other and her name Michele is the female version of his name.
@@jazshas If they'd stayed together we'd still have Michael they would have been married for decades now with Tiger and more brothers and sisters!! Jesus Christ if only....
'Never Tear Us Apart' is an Aussie Classic. I absolutely adore this song. They filmed the video clip in Prague (Czech Republic), I visited there in October and walked along Charles Bridge and passed a lot of iconic scenes. Prague is a beautiful city, a perfect backdrop for a beautiful song.
INXS was one of the greatetst bands in the world in later 80's & earlier 90's. BUT, their music between 1982 and 1985 was awesome. Not only "What you Need" in live version. You must react to any of that period. Congratulations from Spain. Great reactions.
Raising hand I'll go 1st. This was filmed in Prague. Andrew wrote the music. (ETA this story is about the writing of Need You Tonight. But I'll leave it here bc it highlights the collaboration between these two. There is an interview about him making a cab wait until he got the tracks down. He was meeting Michael in Hong Kong. Got there gave Michael the tape, he went in another room and came out 1/2 hr later with the lyrics.) Never Tear Us Apart was written right about the time of Michael's break-up with his first love Michele. They stayed friends, I'm sure it was the R&R lifestyle, the touring that was a reason. I agree the orchestration is classic and timeless. I'm also lit that you put this together and now realize exactly how great they were! Go back and you will listen all new again in full appreciation!
The moment I first heard this song in 1987 I thought this is the most perfectly constructed and performed Ballard ever. And I still think so. Thanks again Dei.
INXS started here in Perth and I remember them advertising in the paper their gigs. Everyone called them the Inks because nobody knew how to pronounce their name as they were new.
This came out when I was at school. Michael had such a great voice and SO much stage presence. Effortless sex appeal, no wonder Kylie fell for him, who wouldnt?
Dei here. It's been a fun journey going back and sharing some great INXS music with Travis, Suzi and everyone here, but this is the last one in the queue from me. Nice that the song tied everything together for Travis. You can see just by looking in the comments that there are so very many more INXS songs out there. I've definitely enjoyed the ones we did. :)
This clip has always had a James Bond feel to it. Handsome man walking around an old mysterious European city. Beautiful girl on a bridge. They must be spies, right? INXS, one of my favorite bands, but then I'm Australian.
If this song does not get you to fall in love with Michael Hutchence and INXS ... you have a stone cold heart! so beautiful. We all have wings, but some of us don't know why !
I think there is a ”nostalgia” for Travis with this song. 😹 Travis was quite animated throughput this whole reaction video! Suzi Q has the man now! 💜 Your summary of this song was perfect Suzi Q!!
Such beautiful lyrics and the perfect video in the right place - Prague. It suits the song so well. Travis is a "music feeler" which is great. Suzie gets it too. Proud to be Aussie 😁🇦🇺💜
The cool kids were listening to this when I was in grade six, when the song just came out. It's still incredible all these years later. And no, I wasn't one of the cool kids, but I still loved this song.
I was in Prague un 1999, and this song was on one of my mix tapes - an actually mix tape with my Sony walkman. Listening to it there...goosebumps central.
Suzy, those words at the end are absolutely magic. That is what life is all about, the journey we take ,those we cross paths with and the impacts they have on us. Good and Bad. That's what creates who we are at the end of the day. Always one of my favourite INXS songs, brilliantly written at a time when they were at the top of their game. INXS were my favourite band in the early 1980's but I kind of turned off them in the 90's. The album this is from "Kick "was the last one of theirs I bought circa 1989.
I’m pretty sure the ‘KICK’ was produced by Nile Rogers who was the songwriter and guitarist for a band called CHIC who were a funky disco band in the 70’s. If you want to see his influence on INXS check out ‘LE FREAK’ by CHIC from 1978. A killer track in nightclubs at the time.
Hutch had a magical voice. He could be tender and extremely sexual in the blink of an eye. Check out 'Good Times', his classic duet with Jimmy Barnes. That song is so awesome that is was on the soundtrack to THE LOST BOYS.
I used to go to a club in Sydney where there was probably less than 100 people and took it for granted watching them, used to sit on the stage and chatter. What were we thinking?
I love ❤️ all the INXS reactions! Please react to there Wembley performance of Disappear and there is a great performance by them on The Arsenio Hall show for Bitter Tears! They were amazing musicians and what can be said about Micheal Hutchence that hasn’t already been said he was a incredible charismatic frontman in every since of the word! Please more INXS, I love ❤️ your guys reactions!
You might laugh at passing 100,000's of people - annually in Melbourne Australia, 100,000's of people use to go to a horse race in November, an Aussie Rule Football Game in September, a Tennis Tournament in January, and every time a major rock concert is held!
I love this song, from its violins, guitar and saxophone.... When I got married I sang this song to my wife, I always sang it to her when she was my girlfriend
haha suzie you should warch the black swans of western australia during maiting seasen they swim around each other and their necks make a perfect heart shape its something to see
I was born in Prague in 1956 but my family migrated to Australia early 1970 when I just turned 13 so I did high school here. Went back there once since then and it's a magic city. Great locations for filming. The movie about Mozart, Amadeus, was also filmed there.
