I generally don't enjoy ballads that much, but this one is insanely good. I feel like every second of the performance is perfectly executed - from the voice to the movements and facial expressions or even make-up.

This is what I call a quality song. Amazing vocals, great performance, in native language. This is what Eurovision should be about, singing in your own language, showing off your tradition and culture, showing off music that is typical your country or your region and not give a damn how many people will like it. Not like Sweden which sends a pop song in English year after year. If you can feel something and get touched by a song without understanding the lyrics that's what I consider good music. I listen to music from all over the world and can feel a good song even though I don't understand a single word. It will be tough for Portugal because most people prefer upbeat song but hopefully Grito will be in the finals. 12 points from Serbia.

I agree music can transcend language. Years ago, I got into a Japanese artist called Gackt, and he once said that was his intention, to impress upon the listener music over lyrics. His song Fragrance certainly does this imo.

There´s always some sense of authenticity and truth on Portugal entries that I just adore. There are catchy songs each year, but I stick to the ones that speak to me on a deepest level, and Portugal ones are usually on my top. You are right! Herman Hesse in Steppenwolf explains well how jazz wins over Mozart. It’s pretentious and inauthentic to deny the fact that some music has the power to move although it’s not musical genius the highest standard. That said, I like this song, although my favorite Portuguese entry was Saudede two years ago. I still listen to it. Bests from Croatia and I am certain that Iolanda will do great!

It's a peripheric country with a big middle-aged diaspora whose people don't really care about Eurovision. And the countries that speak Portuguese are mostly located outside of Europe and in countries where Eurovision not only isn't a thing but also most people don't even know what it is.

Europe, please help this song reach the final. Portugal has no neighbor support in this semi (Spain will not vote in it) and I fear this will not Q. The goal is not to win, but to be that flame of art that 'ainda arde'' in the festival. A flame that is gradually fading at Eurovision.
