There a 4 pin connector that can come loose. It’s easy to fix. Make sure to check the other side of the cable. There are connectors on both sides

Problems like this with the CEM70 is the reason I sold my CEM70. Going back to an EQ6-R Pro. I really like iOptron (I own a GEM28) but I won't buy any more iOptron products. They are well designed but quality control isn't what it should be. Just my opinion. Your mileage may vary. Love your videos and am sorry you are having to get your mount repaired

Thanks Marvin for your feedback, i am also a happy eq6 r pro user, never had any issues with this mount. For my cem70 I hope astroshop can fix it because I like the mount.

had similar issue with my GEM45. Two different scenarios. (1) I used the simple firmware flashing and that worked. (2) In a separate case, it was the white plastic cable that was pulled form the two pins on the board. Re seated them, all good since. Annoying, but often a simple fix (which shouldnt happen of course)

My cem60 had a main board fail, same error essentially. It started out with the GPS board not working, but at least unplugging and plugging the board back in solved that (mostly) I ended up getting a CEM70 and so far so good, although I too need to adjust the DEC gear meshing, as there is some play. Hope yours comes back working well!

Sorry to hear that the Dec board is broken. They will fix it for sure. Btw, better put the counter weight bar on, otherwise you risk that the saddle will flip if you unlock the axis and don’t pay attention.

My old IEQ45 that I bought used had a DEC motor runaway and I found a poorly soldered optical sensor that I have to repair which solved the problem. No one should go through that kind of trouble for the price paid for that mount. Sorry Tom, hope you get ton of help and maybe some sort of compensation from IOptron.

Hi Ray, many thanks for your comment. I was not in contact with iOptron but the dealer offered support. Now it looks the mount behaves better, fingers crossed. Cs Tom

1st night out with my new CEM70 and I am having power button issues. Mount shut off during an exposure run, then would not turn back on. The hand controller would not work either ,it just says I optron in red. Brought power supply in the house and checked it and it was fine, plugged it back in today and it's working again. Seems like I have a connection issue some where, on owner says it,s the red and black power wires from the on/off button thru a connection coupler to the main board. His coupler was loose and the wires did not make a good connection. Hope my fix is as easy and I get a reply if I can check it myself or not from my dealer.

Frank skeen i guess Ioptron and other mounts are quite sensitive to power supply, when I am imaging from my garden I always use the power cord from my house, in the field I use Dynamo pro from orion. I hope you find the error, cs Tom

Sorry to hear about that Tom, very disappointing. I know my friend (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ucul2bebZyo.html)has recently had to return his iOptron after issues with one of his Axis not tracking correctly. Hope you get it fixed 👍

At least it wasn't broken right out of the box, which has been a common Ioptron experience.

@@tomsastrophotochannel3243 Tom, See Joe's Astrophoto channel about his broken lock knob out of the box. Not caught in QC, but they have a fix-it .pdf ready to go for the customer. I think they have a number of repair sheets just like this on various models.

Why send the whole mount back tho? You can ask for a board replacement that should be easy to replace. Not sure where you live and how your procedure would go, but at least for me that would include a long waiting time and high shipping costs(which I don't know if they cover). I didn't had such issues with mine, hope it all goes well soon :) GL!

Pardovot I would have done the replacement by myself but the seller said it is still under warranty so they have to do it. I am in Germany btw.

@@tomsastrophotochannel3243 Gotcha, personally I'm an early CEM70 user and there were some boards upgrade or something like that that ioptron sent to customers(even though my CEM70 was fine, but if it should be better, then it sounds better to me). When I talked to the dealer he told me the same, but I just reached out to ioptron and they sent me the boards with no issues for me to replace. But I guess that's probably a slightly different case.

Gruss Florin

I am curious on how this was resolved. I have a CEM40 that is also showing a similar error message except mine says “Main Board” error. I can’t send it back under warranty unfortunately and the guys from Ioptron are being real jerks as I notified them of this problem prior to warranty expiration but due to massive chronic health problems I had to put the mount on the shelf for a very long time and now they are using the warranty period expiration as an excuse to get out of standing by their products. This will be the THIRD TIME in 3 years that a Chinese company has really screwed me over financially like this and it’s soured me so much on dealing with another Chinese based company to the degree That I will not consider another highly digital/complicated product again, from China. That culture it appears from what I can research believes in “getting one over” on anyone anytime the opportunity presents itself. I find this so incredibly immoral that I can’t begin to describe. Regardless, I am very curious on how you resolved this problem. Thanks much for your video! Cheers

So the dec board was replaced? And it's showing RMS 3x higher than Ra? Is it properly balanced? Is it accurately polar aligned.. can't see what the figures say

iOptron Quality ! Do yourself a favor and get a different mount. iOprton is useless for customer service and their mounts are "Work in Progress". I ended up returning mine back to High Point Scientific and got Skywatchers. I have never been happier !. An EQ8 would be perfect for you.

This seems to be a so called "cold welding point" on the board. Typical for this china stuff.
