Unfortunately no, I personally hate that it does that too haha. Theres a shortcut you can enable to stop it from doing that. I believe it’s in my end card on the video.
@@HotshotTek I have that shortcut, but it still auto-connects to my husbands car even though I’m programmed as the secondary, (and I listen to very loud music). After three seconds, you better not be holding a fast food cup when the beat suddenly drops!!! I’ve already had to have his car detailed once… and it STILL smells like root beer.
I think this is actually down to the manufacturer. My Ford autoplays alphabetically by song title (you know, how everyone prefers to listen to their music), and in my Honda it doesn’t autoplay at all.
You could try navigating using “tap on “ command within an app. Like “Tap on library “. You could also try asking “show numbers” and then navigate throughout the system just like the iPhone. Awesome video, Thanks !
Hi, Can you check if they've added T9 dialling support to the Phone app in carplay as well, since they've finally adopted it for iOS? Seems like a truly helpful feature if you don't want to ask Siri and don't wish to doom scroll through a thousand pages to find the contact you want to call.
I think the siren test failed because the iPhone is doing the recognition, not the car, and the iPhone is designed to not get triggered by sounds it makes through its own speaker.
Next video needs more visual detail please, rather than pretty much just showing menus. EG how do the icons look in dark mode on carplay. Just sayin', thank you
Have they changed it such that you have maps in both driver screen and main screen both be in direction of travel? They changed in iOS 17.4 so that one is always a north facing which is useless.
Initially You played the siren from the same iPhone you connected to carplay. As your iPhone is playing audio it will just cancel that noise and consider it as a media only. The microphone of the car is not utilising.
I personally prefer notifications just going to my phone at all times, instead of blaring through my car stereo, or not hearing it at all, it’s buggy FINALLY!
I believe, the reason the siren detection didn't work is because the iphone listening for the sirens is the same one that played the sound so it kinda cancels the microphone. Something like when trying to shazam a song that the same iphone plays, almost never can shazam detects the song. And thats why it worked later on on different devices ,one payed the sound and one listened.
It’s because you were playing the siren sound from the same phone that was providing CarPlay. Playing it from a different phone in the vehicle would have triggered the notification. Maybe. lol
Any way to have Waze auto turn off in background on iPhone after using it in CarPlay mode and car turned off? Seems to stay on for me no matter changes in settings. Yes, new IPhone with everything updated.
They need to add pinch to zoom ASAP. It’s so annoying that they don’t, and it would make CarPlay so much better for me. It’s ridiculous. Android Auto has it.
Hi folks, it would be great if Siri/maps could be embedded similar to blue tooth vs separate channel option, except of course for fm or non iPhone sound. If you have moon roof open, top down, you kind of need to turn everything up as you go, some car units have “auto” levels too for this.
personally I never use CarPlay, the BMW with iDrive 8, for some reason it makes the music less loud and with less detail, also the ability to scroll through songs from the driver screen stops working half the time, TBH I used to love CarPlay with my old car, but since having the new BMW infotainment I find it so much better to use while driving, and it works better with the vehicle functions compared to CarPlay, only thing I like CarPlay is the Map view coming through to the driver display.
You can control the voice control like the phone voice control etc open RU-vid music or tap playlist if that did not work use show number then choose the number that shown near the option
Thanks for the update. But, CarPlay remains nearly useless and there is nothing new.. I’ll still remain on BMW iDrive.. I don’t use my phone for music and really the rest CarPlay has to offer are from the last decade..
Hello 👋 There is one thing that is very lacking in CarPlay. I'm talking about choosing a cellular tariff from which to make a call. This feature is on the iPhone, but it is not in CarPlay. When dialing a phone number and making a call through CarPlay, the call goes through the SIM card that is set by default. I want to be able to choose a mobile operator to call without picking up my iPhone. Is it possible for you to report it to Apple? It would be great if it was added with the release of iOS18 this fall. Thanks 🙏
I use my iPad as my infotainment system and it’s had voice control as part of accessibility features for a while, it’s handy sometimes but inconsistent like you experienced. Hopefully with the full rollout of iOS 18/Apple Intelligence it improves as much as Siri.
There are already such products, support wireless connection Apple Carplay and Android Auto, Google Play Store, I use the MMB brand so far feel very good
Will this iOS 18 CarPlay work with older style cars with just the infotainment screen in the middle of the car? Or does your car have to be the newer models with the digital instrument cluster in front of the steering wheel?
should work on all cars that support carplay. Digital instrument clusters in front of the steering wheel are already quite old already. But if you want the carplay theme on your instrument cluster, only certain newer cars such as porsche can support that
Hi nice video thank you, I’m wondering if they will implement to read the whatsapp and telegram vocals throughout Siri. This thing is really annoying me cause android auto already has this feature! Thank you again!
Okay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the kislux book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations
