I started to notice the same thing, and I even noticed on the iPad is slowly performing better than the developer because before I used to be super laggy and slow and stuttering but now it is behaving better Do you want to know what iPad I have the iPad seventh GEN
Sorry I mean what do we do if we can do a icloud back up, and dont have a computer to back it up on. ( i have a computer, just to lazy to do a phone backup)
Should go without saying but: 1. Don't install this if you're not ready and agree with bugs and issues 2. New Siri still hasn't been released, so if you're installing because of it just don't 3. Battery life and overheating/slowdown issues, mind that From U/pistols on r/iOS
Hi Brandon - I was downloading the Public Beta when I was watching this. I am worried about battery life and bugs. How bad is the battery and bugs? Is it worth waiting a few more weeks?
Oh man , I had a nasty nasty experience with iOS 18. Everything was lagging and the system menu was respringing big time. So instead of crying :) I did a iCloud backup and then a full reinstall of the public beta 1. Now everything is smooth as butter. No bug , crash etc , super fast experience too.
How’s the battery life in ios 18 public beta ?how much screen on time you getting actually? This question is for them who already installed the public beta
I already switched from iOS 18 developer to iOS 18 public beta on my iPhone XR in my iPad seven generation, actually more better for me to stay in here instead of developer because a long time ago since 17.4 developer beta Has been kind of not that good for me or pretty much, it doesn’t suit for me in general and I regret a lot
I’m currently at iOS 17.5.1 and I can only see the iOS 18 Developer Beta. Should I download the dev. beta before? Note: I live in Brazil and my phone is the 15 Pro.
So I’m with Att and if I turn on rcs my spouse who is on Samsung and uses Google messaging can get my rcs, but I can’t send to my sis who is on Samsung and uses Samsung messages even though the text field says rcs. It will say unable to send and I have to click on the pop up that says send as sms.
Hi, wanted a ask a question. I had previously installed ios 18 db1, and the photo quality in photos app and photos clicked in camera got reduced. Then I reverted to ios 17. Can you let me know if there’s any such issue in ios 18 pb1?
I have two questions: 1. Is the public beta stable enough for my main device (iPhone 12 mini)? 2. Is it possible to get the Official Release in September while being in a public beta? I don’t mind being in the public beta until iOS 18 is released, but I do not want to get a public beta Release Candidate (RC), but instead the Official Release that every iPhone get's.
@@Simsalabimse I would say go for it. The battery life is decent; I get about 90-95% of the battery life I had on iOS 17. Bugs are definitely present. For example, the control center sometimes moves the controls to the wrong place. However, once you set up the control center successfully, it works well. Occasionally, controls may disappear, but reopening the control center brings them back instantly. Just expect a few bugs here and there. No worries, you can report them straight to Apple (I’ve reported two bugs so far). Also, keep in mind that my phone has started to become a lot hotter. I don’t understand why, as it is very cold here, but maybe it needs some time to cool down after a big update. And obviously, it's not going to be as smooth as iOS 17 but with future beta's that gap should close.
It’s basically the same as developer beta 3, in terms of whether you should install it or not , if you want it download it but get a backup just in case
Season Greetings. I was running developer beta nicely but after installing public beta what’s app crashed. Unfortunately I forgot my passkeys password and have to skip backups from cloud and I lost thousands important file and documents. 😢 After installing clean apps it worked perfectly
i did have the ios 17 public beta even on the 14 pro it turned of and i couldnt turn it back on i had to ring apple to for it out so i wont be installing ios 18 this time
Yes you can. You’ll have to put your iPhone into recovery mode by plugging in your device to a computer & connect to Finder or iTunes and press volume up, then volume down, and hold the power button until you see the screen say recovery mode. On your computer, hit restore and update. Make sure to back up first.
Or if you have the developer beta I don’t think it’s going to show public beta but I don’t know. This is my first time messing with the developer beta. Mine just showed up as a regular beta. It didn’t say public beta.
If the public beta isn’t something I’ll want installed on my device until iOS 18 actually releases, is there an easy non damaging way to revert back to the latest version on iOS 17?
@@sspandchange the battery is holding up a lot better than I expected, I was going to use the iOS 18 beta on my primary phone but the battery health on my primary is not good enough
I have beta 3 rn but I think I’ll wait for the full release bc I’m already getting a bug with my battery health going down fast but I’m noticing my battery still goes down slowly
Hi Brandon can you please do a video setting up and using utm as retro pc emulated can you cover installing it using the app including setting it up and your opinouns
Personally I'd try to stay away from downloading the beta on ur main device. Wait until September when the full version releases before getting it on ur primary phone.
Brandon After my I Updated my 14 plus to iOS 18 public beta, my dad got locked out of his iCloud, his phone and all the rest of his Apple devices. What should I do to fix this? Because he uses his phone every day. Thank you
My iPhone keeps crashing after I try to update it the whole thing goes through but right before the whole phone starts the screen flickers and then shuts off the whole phone and i had to hard reset it any recommendations how to get it
Brandon, I have always been hesitant to try the betas on my main device but I really want to try this time. If I try the public betas, can I change over to the public release by shutting off the betas when it’s time?
Yes I usually turn it off like 2 days before the public release date when Apple tells us, when you do the PB if the RC (the one that goes out to the public) is the same as the RC candidate they’ll be no update since you have the public iOS 18 already, but sometimes Apple makes a small change from RC candidate to public RC and if they do you’ll see a update available when the time comes if not your all good!
Idk if you answered this question already Brandon, but if I have never installed a beta before and i am using a 14 pro as my main device should I install this? I am exited for iOS 18 and want to get “early access” and try it out but will I regret it?
hey I need your help!!!! I have the developer and public beta on my Mac book pro 2022 m2 and I am not receiving any of the new updates ive scanned it multiple times tried reinstalling it but it says I have no new updates do you have a solution possibly on what I could do without having to reset my whole Mac?
Hi all I have iOS 18 beta 3.5 installed on my iPhone 15 pro max but when I switch my phone to the public beta I don’t receive the software update for public beta . Can anyone help with this?
How difficult is to switch back to iOS 17.5 from iOS 18 Public beta? I don't believe I have an iOS 17.5 backup. If I have to stay with iOS 18 PB, when iOS 18 GM is released will it be simple to upgrade.
I’ve downloaded the beta, and the first problem I noticed is with screen time. When I try to access it in settings, the app freezes for about half a minute, and once I get in to screen time settings nothing is set up. Along with that, when downtime turns on I can’t turn it back off or allow any apps to have more time
heya soo i just downloaded and my biggest issue rn if that theyve combined reminders into calendar and id like the option to turn this off. my calendar is now a mess and is my main way of staying on track. if anybody knows any work arounds im all ears.
I don't see the public beta. I was thinking about switch from the developer ios 18 but all that shows up is the ios 18 developer beta I dont see public like yours.
