Please, I really need it because my iPhone X high and my iPad seventh generation I literally living in the middle of a crisis right now the performance scrolling speed, Siri and reboot process of warming up. The devices is very bad. voiceover is barely usable on my iPad seven but it could still be usable on the iPhone X XR I please I really want this devices to be fixed because it’s kind of silly
They better not make it a subscription you already have to pay like $1000+ for an iPhone that will get the ai since it probably won’t come to older iPhones
Interesting (to me) too, as when I leave things specifically _at home_ I never get any of those alerts… my address is within my contact card in Address Book, so I guess the phone uses that?
@@StaminaMCyes the air tag knows that that place is your home so it doesn’t give you left behind alerts, but if you left an air tag somewhere outside your home you will get a left behind alert
Yeah, that part I know. It's for that reason that I'd have maybe been momentarily hesitant to go to that address, as it might only be somewhere they regularly frequent rather than _where they live…_ but I guess it matters not as long as they're there to have their property returned. 🙂
@@BrandonButchno way they are going to be paid, they would’ve mentioned it in the announcement, now people EXPECT it to be free for compatible devices so it would be a huge loss on their image also considering how samsung went and didn’t announce that their galaxy ai is going to be paid in two years, they have to now raise the bar from shit like this
Brandon, I’ve been watching your videos for almost 2 years now. I used to be a die-hard Android fan and now I can stop expanding my Apple products portfolio. 😁 You’re by far the best reviewer about all things Apple. Keep up the good job. Is there any more updates expected to come con iOS 17? I know we don’t care much. Just curious.
Hey thanks man! I appreciate it and glad you’re on the Apple side now 😁 There will be more iOS 17 updates but they’ll mainly just be for security/bug fixes
For me, IOS 18 and IPadOS 18 are really buggy, my iPhone keeps crashing and not turning on for about 5 minutes when ever I do anything, even just opening messages… crash. I know beta updates aren’t going to be bug free, but really. There are so many more bugs that are just annoying. But one plus is that I don’t get ad on apps or games, I have no clue why this is but they just glitch out and then go away, so I guess it’s a good thing. 🤙🏼
As I’ve had that in the past, the problem was I had moved up from so many devices that I had files on my iCloud that were created by iOS 8, and were actively in use by iOS 17/18, and it broke 17 beta for me, a clean slate with just “a start as new” helps Edit:punctuation
@@VeronicasVisions it’s funny how you mentioned that and my own phone started having some bugs and issues, a clean reset usually helps, but definitely avoid betas if it’s your main device
That's a really cool AirTag story, Brandon. I just got some good use out of mine today. I was flying back into the country and had a connecting flight, so they told us "don't worry, you won't pick up your back at your layover destination, it will be transported to the new plane for the final flight". Which - good on 'em, I appreciate that, but I also don't always trust airports to get it right every time. I've heard horror stories. However, once we landed, I was able to see the location of my checked back as it went onto the new plane, and then once we got home and got off the plane I was able to see where the bag was and follow the AirTag to the baggage claim to find my bag. Kind of nifty, not super crucial (and thankfully the airport system worked exactly as it should have today).
Apple considering these 5 year old products as vintage, along with their incremental device updates, and now you’re tellling us we’re going to have to pay for AI? This really makes me lack excitement for them as a brand. 😒
I am so glad you mentioned the HomeKit issues you are having. I’m having the same exact i issues on my iPhone and my Apple Watch. It’s crazy. As well as the app icons acting strange haha 😆
Regarding the Airtag story: If you had checked the Medical ID info, you might had been able to see who's is the owner of the phone and the emergency contacts associated with the user of this phone (as long as the user has set these up). You can see the Medical ID info by holding the power + volume up buttons for 3 seconds.
Thanks for mentioning the HomeKit issues. Haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere but it has been a huge issue for me. The only HomeKit device (so far) that it hasn’t seem to have impacted is my Schlage Encode Plus lock (from the Apple Watch anyway. Can’t wait for Beta 3 for this reason.
So if your phone’s dead by 10 AM just about do you even charge it at night I’m on probably the same software you are and I don’t have as many battery issues iPhone 15 right here
They didn't stay it's 0% at 10AM! They said they start using their phone at 10AM and have 0% when they go to bed (probably at around 12PM-02AM, assuming 8-10 hours of sleep. My personal impression of the battery life in Beta 2 is, that it's a bit worse, but not a lot than iOS 17.
Beta 2 killed my 14 Pro Max display 6 months after it got replaced. The display died twice for seemingly no reason so I upgraded to a 15 Pro Max. Anyone else had this issue?
I just upgraded to the new IPhone 15 pro max because I m not about to pay the ridiculous prices when the 16 pro max hits! They had awesome deals! I am enjoying the beta 2!
Can you do a Geekbench test on an base model device running iOS 18 beta to see if it’s giving you a lower score. My theory is that the 15 pro devices are doing some extra work to prepare for apples intelligence features so that once they release it, it can instantly work as most of the features are on device. This can also explain the bad battery draining. 🤷🏿♂️
I’m excited for public beta 1 next week so it’s less buggy than the developer beta. Normally I beta test the developer beta but as I see how buggy the developer beta has been so far I’ve decided on the public beta will be the safe route to go 😄
Is anyone else annoyed at the new timeline scrubber when you watch videos on the photos app? There’s no visible time stamp like there used to be and it’s actually super annoying when wanting to edit videos to chop them up.
For me, the Photos app does A LOT of background activity, sometimes, hours even if I opened it to check one thing, so I always make sure to force quit Photos before locking my phone.
@@vrsce0178, and where has that been proven? If I’m done with an app, I close it. If I need to open it 30 minutes later, wow, I click on it. The same ones that leave everything open 24/7 are the same ones who complain about battery and performance. I wonder why 🥴
@@vrsce0178Is this true? I remember when I was younger I would never close anything.. that never showed any issues but as I’m older and understand the tech more I close everything all the time. Does this actually show any difference in performance or battery life?
@@vrsce0178 So they keep saying but I dont buy that, also I read an article and it's been tested, they found out that some apps is simply using more battery when left open in the background all the time. Specially social media apps like IG, FB, and others. Also something like maps would drain if left open. But if you have an app you use often, like every few minutes, then sure leave it open, but if you only use it a couple of times during the day there is no good reason to leave it open in the background all the time.
The fact that when releasing the iPhone 14 series, Apple didn't upgrade the iPhone 14 chip suggests that they might have thought that there wasn't enough new things for the Pro models, so they would increase the difference between the Pro and non-Pro models by not giving the new A16 Bionic chip to the base models.
Interesting airtag story, but kinda scary that some random person can get your name and address and then just show up at their house. Good for you for being an honest citizen and doing the right thing though.
20-30mins transfer time to a usb-c driver that drained ~2% battery life on an iPhone does not seem to be bad, 1000-1500mins for 100% battery life, that is 16-25hours runtime, I doubt the M2 Air could do it.
I just use this feature with my mother setting up Apple Pay and it’s pretty cool that it blocks out the bank account information from her and she’s typing
I have a page of apps that disappear and become blank icons when my phone switch from light icons to night. Not a crazy big bug. Bug but kinda annoying. Hope it’s patched in beta 3!
@@hectorvaleriano1266 it’s only 4 icons that go blank. My setup is minimal. Only happens when switch automatically from light to dark mode via time in settings. I put it on just light mode icons(my preference) and it hasn’t happened since. It also reverts back to normal on its own after a few hours of those select icons being black. But since going to light more I’m good! It’s a beta so I know what I signed up for.
Great videos Brandon! Could you please tell if Stolen Device Protection has been adjusted to protect credit cards in Apple Pay, which can currently be accessed with a iPhone code?
Attention everyone: Important iOS 18 beta 2 warning! After downloading iOS 18 beta 2, I encountered severe issues. It completely deactivated Siri and removed the talk-to-text button. Despite multiple attempts to fix it, including powering down and rebooting my phone, the problem persists. This update has been disastrous, and I regret installing beta 2.
Fun fact: if you find a lost iPhone, hopefully, they have Siri set up and their contact information in the Contacts app. You can always ask Siri, "Who's iPhone is this?" or "Who does this iPhone belong to?" 😀
My home devices stopped responding when I downloaded the beta as well. After removing & resetting all my devices & hubs and a lot of trouble shooting in general, I was able to fix the issue by restarting my router...
And you still can't change the snooze time 🤦 Also I love this feature that when I am turning down the volume on Instagram because I'm currently listening to music from spotify app on PC and I still want to hear it, it automatically turns down the volume of music playback on PC, because iphone knows better and independent control would surely overwhelm me. Thanks apple! Hope they keep this amazing lack of functionality in following updates. AI is for sure easier to implement and much more demanded by users...
I remember when the word “vintage” meant something. Also, this new product robotic arm HomePod will sell like crazy despite every Apple fan poo pooing any idea of putting an equivalent from Amazon or Facebook in their homes because of privacy.
I love this iOS thus far (aside from all the bugs) but I have not been given the option to upgrade to beta 2. I’m still on beta 1. If anyone knows, please help!
