I’m predicting skeuomorphic designs will come back as we’ve been stuck with flat designs for a decade now. Maybe it will be neomorphic, a combination between fake and realistic.

There is two different clock icons in iOS 6. The one shown here and a grey and white one which utilized the Swiss railway clock design. That one was only used on iPads.

Flat, plain logo/icon designs are so old fashioned now. It's been 10 years. iOS 6 looks more advanced and futuristic.

I won't lie, iOS 6 looks better. My most favorite iOS versions are iOS 6 and iOS 7.

You would think that iOS 16 was the old version and that iOS 6 was the new one. Think back to the original Macintosh icons and the design progress they reached by OS X.

I don’t understand all the talk about oversimplification. I’m indifferent to it. On one hand, I think they did looked better before but on the other had, It’s really the companies choice and at this point I don’t see why they would go back. As times change I can see them changing them again, but not back to skeuomorphism.
