The headline feature coming in iOS 17.3 is a big one: Robust protection to prevent your iPhone or iPad from being used if it is stolen.
The launch of the iOS 17.3 feature came after a Wall Street Journal report that described how people could spy on iPhone users’ passcodes to break into their devices and cause havoc.
Once enabled, Stolen Device Mode in iOS 17.3 ensures criminals can’t do scary things such as accessing passwords, changing your Apple ID credentials or turning off Lost Mode without first authenticating via Face ID or Touch ID. Meanwhile, changing your Apple ID in an untrusted location will incur a one-hour security delay
