Our new Q series backflushing filter is the next generation of backflushing filtration. It has been manufactured from much stronger and more durable components to enhance its filtration capabilities. The unit is uniquely sealed to maintain pressure and avoid cross-contamination of clean and dirty oil. In all other similar systems, the dirty oil is returned to the sump due to low pressure. The eQlyps come fitted with a backflush pump which increases the flow and pressure to support the filtration process.
AUTOMATIC SELF-CLEANING LUBE OIL FILTER:
00:30 Dirty lube oil enters the self-cleaning backflush Q series filter through the oil inlet. Passing through the initial mesh, it enters the main filter chamber via the uniquely sealed distributor cover. Unlike other brands, these O-rings seals prevent dirty oil from contaminating cleaned oil.
00:47 At the center of the main chamber is a rotor that rotates at a low calculated speed and is encircled by serval channeled and segmented filter elements. Because the Q series filter elements are made of molded plastic, unlike competitor elements, they squeeze together to form a perfectly sealed ring (or cylinder) of segmented filtering compartments. This eliminates cross-contamination between dirty oil (dark blue) and cleaned lube oil (orange). Dirty oil enters the stack of filter elements through a series of inlet slots. It is then forced (under pressure) through the filter mesh removing soot, contaminants, and dirt. The majority of the cleaned oil exits the filter stack through exit slots on the outer surface and returns to the sump via the main exit outlet.
01:39 However, a small amount of oil is used to "backflush" the filter elements. As the rotor slowly turns inside the cylinder of elements, it seals one column of inlet slots at a time. The rotor has a channel with a set of holes that match up perfectly with these slots. These holes allow a small amount of cleaned oil to be sucked back (under increased pressure) through the filter mesh and, by doing so, flush the dirt, soot, and contaminants off the surface of the mesh.
02:12 The Q series filter elements use a far superior mesh market-leading weave and superior to the mesh used in other leading brands. Other mesh has a tendency to block more frequently due to the geometry of the mesh and requires more regular servicing. The IOW Group mesh filters out smaller particles and stays cleaner for longer.
02:41 The contaminated, dirty oil is sucked up through the rotor and out through a separate exit outlet. In all other leading brands, due to the low pressure that they operate under, dirty oil generally flows directly back into the engine's sump. However, eQlyps comes uniquely equipped with a low-maintenance IOW Magnaline 458 pump which increases flow and pressure (or suction).
OIL CENTRIFUGE:
03:13 This allows eQlyps to be fitted with the market-leading IOW MP centrifuge filter as standard, which removes the backflushed dirt, soot, and contaminants from the lube oil entirely. Filtering out harmful particles down to one (1) micron.
REMOTE MONITORS:
