Historic. The players deserve so much credit for never giving up and Norm Parker deserves the credit for building such a powerful defensive line. Year after year the offense did little but Norm would have his defense ready to go. Norm's gone and the good days are gone, but we still have these special memories. These players have so much to be proud of.
Great clip. No added music, no added SFX or other crap to distract from what was an awesome moment in football (and I'm not a Hawkeye fan). Too many of the other football videos have crappy music taking away from the game the way it was seen. Great job.

Good shot of the Cuse fans still applauding their efforts. I always believe a loss can really show true character in teams and fan bases. Like when Iowa lost to MSU in the Big Ten Title Game in 2015, Iowa got a standing O. Super nice to see. Puts in some perspective. At the end of the day, these are young men who play a game and are in college looking to better themselves in life.
fuck i remember watchin this game. every play i was like DAMNIT they are in and nope we jsut kept stopping them..this was incredible. just another one of iowas greatest moments.
@@HawkGuy82 Nah. The goal line stand on Saturday was awesome (I was lucky enough to be at the game or unlucky if you consider how ugly it was), but Syracuse got stuffed 8 times, not 4.

My new bride and now x wife were at that game. I believe it was in 2006. Saw a fraternity brother there, good times. I had not started drinking at 9 am in a very long time.
This was probably one of Iowa's better games this year, with the best being the upset over an Illinois who beat Ohio State and Penn State. It was good for Iowa to get this to finish 6-6 (still should have made a bowl game because of the 4-4 Big Ten record), but on the other hand, I feel sorry for Syracuse who used to have a great football team, but has now fallen to about the level of Indiana.
i wish iowa still played hardcore defense like this they had some success and they stopped working hard especially special teams! id rather see low star recruits like 02-06 and block a punt every game and play hard with nothing too loose!!

The best goal line stand in football history? Give me a break. It isn't even the best this decade. Did you watch the 2003 National Championship between Miami and Ohio St.? In the second overtime, Miami had the ball at the 1 yard line on first down, down by a touchdown, and they couldn't get it in. That game had far more meaning and the offense trying to punch it in feature huge stars. No comparison which one was more impressive.
