When I was caught in a tornado in my car I quickly realized there was no way for me to get out of it. They say to get out of your vehicle and get in a ditch, but once it's there I don't know if the Hulk could open a car door to get out. The one that caught me just looked like a small funnel cloud forming off in the distance. I was almost home and I thought there was enough time that I could easily make it, but clearly I am not a professional tornado evaluator LOL. Scariest minute of my life that left me facing the opposite direction in the middle of the highway, but uninjured and no serious damage to my car that was left plastered with corn stalks and leaves.
He might have experienced a miracle. I was watching both on my professional level radar and a live stream when this outbreak happened - a storm spotter in Cedar Rapids for the NWS. The Greensfield EF-5 formed near Villisca. It might have just been gathering strength or he could have been hit by a sub-vortice. It's a miracle he's alive.
