cracks me up. I show my students how to do this. they didn't understand. So, I happen to have a copy of the video that helped me learn CIDR. They still don't get it. I pick a random video on RU-vid about CIDR (this one) and it just clicked for every one of them. I didn't exactly follow his way of doing it, but hey, every student started getting the correct answer each time so, if it works, it works. Good job Mr. Butcher.
This by far is the best video out there breaking down CIDR math on how to find the network ID, broadcast ID, and usable IP range. Thanks a ton Josh! And like Eric M says, the disappointment you feel when realizing this is the only networking video you have.
This video actually helped me understand subnetting. You actually went through the whole process from start to finish and broke it down to a granular level unlike everyone else who only went through a portion of it. Awesome tutorial!!
Most of the valuable lessons on IT are the old ones with the low quality. I am having an exam next month and this turorial has just boosted my convidence further. Thank you very much.
Honestly, this is by far the best video on subnetting ever, with this video everyone is able to understand subnetting, you really have a gift for teaching.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I was struggling with this so much, your explanation made it look so simple and I finally understand how to do this the right way. Thank you so much!!!!!!!
Crisp and clear Mr.Butcher :) . Thank you for this great video. Have looked up many tutorials to learn the subnetting from CIDR , by far this one is the best and saved me a lot of time in calculations.
Oh man, this is the first time I honestly can say I understand it now. I read and viewed so many other videos and this was the clearest one of them all. thank you joshua!
Simplest and Easiest explanation I could find and finally understand this. All these questions to find the range of addresses are so easy after watching this video. Thank You!
Typically I don't leave any comment for any video I watch. However, after so much frustration of going thru dozens of videos and wasting hours of my time, this video clicked me right away. With 3 simple examples it makes perfect sense now. Thanks for the simplicity and straight to the point explanation.
Thank you so so much for this video ! You explained subnetting to me in a perfect way using binary. I've been struggling seeing so many other subnetting videos that use big charts or powers of 2, but this really helped me learn and understand. Thank god because my Net+ exam is tomorrow lol. Thanks again!
This is the easy way to understand the subnetting, each time our instructor say something about subnetting in class I back to this video to understand what he mean.
Excellent demonstration Joshua, studying for my A+ right now. Definitely will help, thanks! Have seen a few other vids of the CIDR subnet calcs., but this is by far the easiest to understand, thanks again!
this...is the BEST video of explaining CIDR EVER. PERIOD, my professors couldnt do it other videos couldnt do it. it just clicks the way you explain it!
Joshua the CIDR Notation was a head scratcher for me. After your break down teaching I can see clear now. I appreciate you taking the time to do so #EachOneTeachOne
Thank you so much for this video!!! This is the best instructional video I have found yet for CIDR, and subnetting! It seems so easy after watching this video! I had forgotten how to do this, and i'm sure it will be on my CIT 167 Cisco Final!
I thought I already had a decent understanding of subnetting and then this video confused the crap out of me, but in trying to understand the way you're doing it, I ended up forcing myself to gain an even better grasp of what is going on...so thanks!
Very much appreciated Mr Butcher, wish my school teacher taught it like this. I was starting to second guess taking this CCNA course because subnetting is so hard. This clears things up.
