I actually think charging with a cable makes more sense, rather than straight out plugging the pencil into the iPad, I’m always anxious about it to break and leave the lighting connecter inside. However no one should ever pay 9 extra bucks just for the dongle, not because it’s expensive but Apple at it again with their toxic profit strategy.
I did appreciate the fact that going forward, the 1st gen apple pencil will include the connector dongle. The added $9 is just for if you already have the 1st gen pencil and decide to upgrade to this new 10th gen iPad..it beats having to pay another $100 for a pencil just bc of the connector.
@@TodayTamaraForever there is already a lightning adapter in the box-so there really was never any drama, except if you insisted on plugging the pencil into the iPad instead of the wall.
I love the size and the use I get out of it is exactly what it was intended for ru-vid.comUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA . I use it mostly for taking notes in school and studying and it for the most part has replaced all my note-taking on actual paper. However, the screen is not as bright as I'd like. The lights in my class are super bright and I have to adjust my angles often just to see what I'm reading/writing on the screen. It could be my eyes, but I think a brighter screen would still help. Also there is no mute switch. This might not be an issue for most people but for me, this being my first ipad and being an iphone user, I'm so used to having it there. Everyone can hear when I'm typing with it in the library (probably just me overthinking) but I'm sure I can adjust that in the settings. Just kinda inconvenient. Other than that, I really enjoy it overall
If they laminated the display and it was $399 starting, it'd be worth it and Apple would be getting a much better reception. Even with the stupid Apple Pencil situation, lol.
I agree with the idea that the 10th gen is worth it, IF you do not use the Apple Pencil. I also think that if you don’t have an Apple Pencil and still want to take notes on this thing that the Logitech Crayon is probably the way to go… Idk about art though. That might be more of a 9th gen if you want cheap or an Air if you want new design and great quality Pencil experience.
@@joefilter2923Why would people hate Apple? I never understood that. There’s no obligation whatsoever to buy Apple products. I you don’t like Apple or their pricing, simply don’t buy it. Buy another brand instead. Apple is expensive, it’s overpriced. But fortunately, buying Apple products is a matter of free choice. Last week I bought the iPad 2022, 10th gen, 256gb. Of course it was too expensive, I paid € 787,00. But it was my free choice and I just wanted that iPad. So I’m not complaining. Btw, I’m not necessarily addressing my comment to you personally… 😊
I wouldn’t spend more than 375 for the 10th Gen iPad especially since the 9th Gen can be had for under 300$ with a wide range of available accessories for reasonable prices
Apple Pencil is not a big deal for me, I prefer the Logitech crayon, it’s cheaper and it basically does the same thing, for every other features this iPad provides, for a non content creator, it’s great. The Apple Pencil is an added luxury and you can get around that. My favorite and what won me over is the landscape camera module! I love. I also had the IPad Pro and iPad Air so you know I only got this one for the front camera…. Lol wasting money but I love Apple’s products; what can I say. 😊
@@David-je2mn no… but i strategically find ways of spending money on things I want and like 😄and manage to live within my means; With that said, I’m blessed not rich 😊 By the way my other iPads, I mentioned are being use by my kids.
@@David-je2mn I would say an iPad mini 6; it’s a tad bit of an upgrade from 10th generation iPad with a laminate screen and higher chip size for better speed and performance. It is also pocketable for carrying your digital notes and manuals around for quick access. The second generation pencil can be used and that’s a convenience for busy doctors, to not have to wait to charge the pencil, because as you know the pencil attaches and charges via the iPad.
This is what I was waiting for. It will be a great replacement for my iPad 8. I won’t be using the Pencil or the Magic Keyboard Folio. Would say a win for me.
I can only assume that the Pencil support is purely to just have it, and it’s not the intended use case for this iPad. Just the iPad and the keyboard, seems a good legit system.
I think Apple is running out of things to do lol Plus they know if they make accessories that will go with everything they won’t make money. Any little thing Apple can find a way to charge you they will.
Why Apple made the IPAD 10 in this configuration is because almost all companies are cutting corners so they can still make a good profit but it is us the consumer that gets the shaft so can you say hard times and crazy inflation prices !!!!!!!!!!!!
Received mine today. I love it. Bought the original iPad on its first day. Have yet to use an iPad pencil or keyboard since the day the original came out. Based on that, the upgrades on this iPad are well worth the money. BTW, I got blue and the color is way more vibrant than on apple's website. It looks incredible. If you are confussed about this beauty, it's probably not the iPad for you. I had the iPad 9th Gen and got $195.00 on trade in and bought it through Apple's Education site which dropped the price an additional $30. So for roughly $200 i got a product that should make me happy for years.
Hey there! I have a question. I'm a student and I would like to buy me my first Ipad with keyboard and a pencil. There's just one thing and that is the price... I really do want the whole experience but I don't want to spend a lot of money. So my question is which ipad should I buy the best now? Should I go for 64gb or 256gb?
I won’t buy it simply because there is no headphone jack. I have very very nice corded headphones that I use with my 2nd Gen iPad Air They weren’t cheap so... I do need a new iPad because Apple doesn’t support my old one but I’m going to pick up 9th Gen iPad because it still has the headphone jack and the home button
Apple purposely capped the CPU and limited features on this iPad so as to prevent it from take the iPad mini and iPad Air out of the market shares lmao. Watching from my iPad 9 and I Zero reason to upgrade
No I have it a blu one and it’s good and expensive and that means it’s good and don’t make uthers feelings hurt because what if they have the ipad that your talking about and then they think they got a worst iPad but accchuly they got the best one ok
Till a few days ago, I too was thinking along the same lines of how weird this iPad is and Apple have messed up here. But after trying it in the store a couple of times and comparing against the other iPad models, I now feel that this is a very well though out design. It all depends on your use case. One of the target consumer is obviously the schools & students (not college students) and maybe older people who need an iPad for very limited things. But even if you are a working professional and looking for an iPad mostly for content consumption and Zoom meetings then this is perfect for you. Plus you could just go for the 64gb model which is quite affordable. And although more expensive than similar older models, this has the landscape camera which sets it apart and makes it x times more appealing. Now, its 64gb model is perfect for the above use case and you don't need the pencil or keyboard in that scenario. But the moment your use case involves the pencil & keyboard, you would rather buy the iPad air (or wait for the next-gen Air which could have the landscape camera).
May be you can connect an "USB C to lightning" cable using the old adaptor (included) for Pencil1. May be apple can¨t put a magnet at the same side that they put the new camera on landscape mode tu use Pencil2. May be. I think that this new iPad it s great. Expensive...but great.
If this was my first iPad, I would have no problem buying the new 10th generation basic iPad. However, for myself this would be my fourth basic iPad (I always buy the version with the max RAM and the data cell option) and, I just prefer the classic basic iPad design with the home button, headphone jack, lighting connector, and simple support for the 1st generation pencil (smile…smile).
A solid way to try one out and see if you like it. I would recommend researching them in general and being sure that what you are buying and what you want to use it for line up. Good luck.
is an ipad mate, don't send fiction over .... here. so sorry that brands like Apple get to someone like you ,to advert their stuff ....to sell this "stuff".... be real
Probably EU fault. They plan products years ahead, and they didn’t plan this iPad for usb-c, was a last minute change due to regulation (hence why the adapter even comes out of the box)
I was waiting for the 10gen ipad, to replace my 6gen but when I saw the price and the stupid adapter I searched for a second hand M1 ipad pro. Luckely I found one in perfect conditions for 530 bucks.😅
Sounds like an excellent plan. I prefer the classic design of the basic iPad models. So, to replace me 6th generation basic iPad, I ordered the older 9th generation basic iPad with max RAM and the cell data option. Why? Because my 1st generation Apple Pencil works without a special adapter, and all my lighting adaptors also work great. In addition, I ordered mine off of Apple’s Veteran web site and saved 10 percent (smile…smile).
Greg content videos is always loved and liked ❤. But sorry to say, i hated this boring ipad update 😡. The charging of apple pencil gen 1 with the new ipad is disgusting 😡. I had complete mood off with this boring ipads released.
This ipad is perfect for me, i’m upgrading from my ipad pro from 2017, and its perfect, its fast and responsive, it has better camera quality and faster performance for gaming, and the new colors and redesign is a yes for me, and i don’t draw so the apple pencil doesn’t matter
for all the ppl who say the adapter is easy to lose it’s actually not because u can keep it in the box and put it somewhere where u can remember and only take it out when u need to
Holy crap yes, this. The same thing I thought when I saw it was exactly what I've thought whenever I'm looking at getting something with small but important parts: "Where am I going to keep that?". And I immediately decided I'll use the included C to C with the tablet as an exclusive cable for the dongle, dongle and cable can chill in my stationary drawer in my room, and the iPad itself can be charged on the high quality setup I bought for my phone. Simple. I realize that is not as "loaning a PS4 game" commercial simple as putting the pencil onto the table to charge is. But I also think people are way too bent out of shape over the situation.
Don't get confused, apple want you to go for Ipad Air gen5 , they want you to pay extra just for chip. Samsung fe+ is much better but no durability and also have lag issues in normal usage. Ipad 10 gen is now at 30k : no lags, •best display - its non laminated but you will never notice. •Durability- easy 3 to 5 years •Pencil- buy a amazon pencil ✏️ you will never regret If you want to do gaming then buy a ps5 , do not go for ipad air 5th gen , m2 chip is great but on ipad it doesn't worth it just for gaming or editing. Its apple marketing, hope you get it, any company will want you to pay extra to earn more profit. Ipad 10 will never have lag unless high end gaming.😂
I also love how you actually mention the positives of this iPad… way too many things just express the cons and that’s it. This is a very good review as an iPad 10 user myself. Great video
This iPad is really good. I ken the iPad Pro 11 inch and the 12 inch. I use this one more. Place it on ur purse I just bought it for searching plus the price. I don’t have to take my other expensive iPad s. Plus people said about the iPad Air. Na. Just buy another pencil Apple Pencil are no good anyways. This iPad amazing is 385 now. In Amazon. Is a great machine
Im curious.. Is the A14 chip on the ipad 10th gen, exactly the same on the ipad air 4th gen? If so does the ipadOS longevity supprt will be the same on both devices?
The price is 450$ - for base line iPad that is too much! Why not just buy iPad Air? Then you can use 2nd gen Apple Pencil. Or 9th gen iPad for 329$. This iPad is just nonsense.
For $450, I bought a used good condition 4th gen iPad air, apple smart folio case, and a brand new second gen apple pencil on amazon on sale for $89. I just can't justify anyone buying this iPad. The used iPad air 4 alone and the case that came with it was like $360 on swappa so big thumbs down from me on this one.
If your planning on using a pen and your a digital artist, note taker of any sort. Buy the iPad Air 5. Yes it is a bit more expensive, but, it is worth it. Especially if you want to use the 2nd gen pen.
I love this iPad I ordered mine the other day I have the yellow one aswell and it's gorgeous 😍 it looks more gold I think than yellow my last ipad was from 2012 love it so much best decision I ever made worth every penny
Im sorry for being so brutal, but this is a straight-up ripoff of the ipad air 4/5. I would recommend saving up for an ipad air instead, or dont. thats yo decision :D
Apple made THE strangest design choices for this iPad and this generation of iPads in general. This new iPad is so head scratchingly weird. Why would they go all the way back to a first gen Apple Pencil???? The landscape camera feels like an experiment just to see how folks will take to it before porting the design to the rest of the lineup. All of the iPads are starting to cannibalize one another. There are far too many options in similar price points with similar sizes and specs. Keep the two pros. Keep either the iPad Air OR regular iPad, but not both. And make the mini a more “pro” device by at least offering 120hz refresh rate. It doesn’t need an M1/M2 processor.
The Apple Pencil 1 comes with an adapter in the box. But, it seems that you do need the NEW adapter to “pair” the pencil. You have to plug in the pencil into the iPad. It looks like Apple did not want to spend for the adapter or to redesign the box!
Any new versions of the pencil being sold at major shops now come with the new dongle included. It's not gonna change the mind of people who hate the dongle, but it will be useful for people who buy this and then decide they want a pencil.
Yea... I think this is really for people who don't want to use an pencil with it which of course is odd for the price increase. I think it's really for people who wanted a faster more colorful update to their old iPad.
Give him some slack, he needs to make a living and is just trying to stay on Apple, Inc. good side. When the item that, I like the most about a new device is its color selections … that says it all (smile…smile).
I don't need to be on Apple's good side, they don't even send me products. I pay for them myself lol. I think $450 is a fair price if you aren't an Apple Pencil user.
If you don't use an Apple Pencil, I wouldn't call it crap. $450 is a fair price, I'd recommend this over the $599 iPad Air if you don't plan on using an Apple Pencil.
New 10th generation #iPad is a MAJOR FAILURE, and I hope sales tank. Come on FAIL on pencil, FAIL on #USB2 spec IEC 62680 USB C style port, FAIL on display not being same as the #iPadAir. #ThinkDifferent
bought this at a discounted price 😁 . for gaming . and surely not gonna buy that ..cable/adapter 😂😂 you can check out ..that how i got at a cheap price
Tech enthusiasts make up less than 10% of basic iPad buyers and make a fuss as if they were 99% of buyers... with reviews that don't even touch real iPad users I think that the iPad 10 gen is excellent and I'm glad that Apple left the 9th generation iPad as well. Now the portfolio is complete, and there is a choice for absolutely everyone! You can charge pancil with an brick, wich is better
Tech reviewers are good to listen to to have the aspects of a new product explained. But if its anything other than the highest model, you then need to go and listen to actual people. Because tech reviewers have two modes of understanding, generally. Either buy something big and flashy, or buy the cheapest thing available. I've also noticed that their views on many of the things that come out are negative and then mellow over time. People talk about the Air 5 like it's the sacrament in the YT tech community, but if you go back and listen to reviews its wild to see how many were whining about it.
What the hell is the big deal about the damn pencil in the half millimeter gap????🤔 this is all every forum talks about that's been reviewing this tablet on RU-vid and in the comments. All everybody talks about is that damn Hansel and it's awkwardness. The iPad wasn't designed only for a pencil. Unbelievable it's simple. Just don't buy it and move on.
I was hoping to consider the iPad 10th gen for a school purchase. The horrible pencil charging and HUI experience has made the Samsung S6 Lite much more appealing. Can you imagine asking a school teacher to charge 25 Apple Pencils before class? 😱
@@Marian-wy1nl They did an update in fall 2022 to a snapdragon 720. It's not gonna compete against an ipad on a chipset ratio, but depending on someone's needs it can be a perfectly fine tablet. I'm getting an ipad for procreate, but my bf just wanted something to jot stuff down, do some light mobile gaming, and use duolingo and he loves it.
Ehem fix all those problems with buying cheaper stuff like dupe pencil and just normal Bluetooth keyboard and stylist. Save money. I doubt any of us r like artist or something needing any of those special features.
I think the outrage is a little blown out of proportion. Most people are going to go to Walmart, and get a stylist for under $20.00 anyway. Budget minded purchasers will probably stick with budget purchases.
Seems like Apple is Greedy. they make it so hard for people to get a Hazel free experience on their iPads due to software limitations. Apple products are very expensive but you never get to use the full potential of their awesome hardware. Thumbs down to their software team👎
I don’t agree with the tech community response to the pencil, it is not elegant but for many in the market for the new iPad they are likely to have an old one in the drawer and avoids them having to invest in a new one. In daily use will be fine. Heavy users will go for an air or a pro. Would not be surprised if in a redesign of the current mid and high range iPads - next year? - we will see a pencil three that may connect differently allowing for the camera to be placed at the centre in landscape mode…
I think the 10th generation IPad is weird. Why would Apple not put the 2 generation Apple Pencil instead they choose the old Pencil I think they were I bit lazy this year and just went with the old Pencil. I’m happy to see that Apple is gradually integrating there devices to USB-C charging which is really nice!
@@asalalani4068 you bought the wrong Apple Pencil. The 10th generation iPad only works with the first generation pencil. You should send back the second generation pencil and get a refund and use that money to buy the first generation pencil. It sounds weird but that’s the way Apple designed the the tenth generation iPad. When you do buy the first generation pencil, don’t forget to buy the connector because the 10th generation iPad has a USB-C port not a lightning port so you’ll need to buy a converter. It sounds complicated and it sucks.
Yellow is so popular. I want to see the blue one. I’m not buying 😂😂 I just bought my 9th gen. I agree that this generation is a waste of money for upgrades.
