Went to Apple yesterday. The charging bit on my ipad is apparantly broken and they tried to charge me £200 for a replacement. I found the parts are cheap and this video is very helpful so thank you! I will be attempting this :)

My ipad 4 takes like two days to get a full charge. Is this most likely my problem? I bought a new lightning cable and that didn't help. It holds a charge ok, so I'm thinking the battery is not the problem. Really appreciate any advice you can offer.

You do not discuss resealing the glass back to body of the iPad - are ther any issues to be aware of?

New adhesive should always be used when reassembling a device.

DO NOT overlook the little tid bit about heating up the perimeter for SEVERAL minutes. Just cracked screen because I was forcing it open with tool they provided.

+David Williams This repair does require micro soldering. It's a challenge to complete this successfully.

I didnt see why you have to remove the touch screen and the LCD connection. They are not connected with the charging dock or its ribbon. Is there any other technical reason?

Gee good to know that I didn't need to disconnect all the cables to the touch screen and display because you didn't want me to damage the cables. Now I can't get the tiny cable back in place and my screen won't slide to unlock. The charger port works great though! So what now????? Didn't you consider that the cables have more chance of being damaged by pulling them out and putting them back together?? That little cable is impossible to get in place.

Hey bro my mini iPad is broken . Because every time we put the charger inside the charger dock thing like u know every time were trying to charge an q iPad and then we put the charger Inside of the little rectangle hole or dock it just won't fit in , we use the right chargers but it won't fit in , please help me how to fix it I'm having problems every day bruh 😪

I see that you're wearing an antistatic wristband. What do you connect to on the iPad to not damage any components in the tablet?

You wouldn't connect it to anything on the iPad, but you would need to ground it first by connecting it to metal.

Hello, I own an IPad 4, and I seem to be having an issue with it. I'm not sure what it is, but it's causing the IPad to not turn on. I've tried about three different chargers, one using an IPone brick. Pressing the home and power button isn't working either. I'm not sure if I can fix it or what type of damage is going on, but I'd like to know what's wrong. Thank you.

+Delia Delonge It's possible your dock port is the issue but it can also be your battery. We recommend starting by replacing your dock port to see what the outcome is.

i have the same problem like him,exepet that when i put it on charge the apple logo apers for a few seconds and then it goes away,its been stuck on this loop for 4 hours,i never dropped it tho,any help? ;_; i also tried the home button and the power button but nothing is really happening also sorry for my bad english

Seems to be a software related issue or the battery is simply bad. We recommend first re-storing the device via iTunes. See if that helps, if not you may require a new battery.

+GAURANG SUTHAR Slowly using the heat will help soften the adhesive for the removal of this touch screen. It will help you.

+GAURANG SUTHAR Its definitelly not that easy at all. Even with a Heat Gun it takes some effort to remove the digitizer if it have not been removed before. I think that they removed the digitizer prior to making the video.

Excuse me sir , and how about mine it keeps on showing the sign that its charging and even though the charger is not connected to the dock n if u plug on to a cable it starts normally n show that loading then and sudden;y restarts again n it keeps on doing the same process again and again can u plz help me with it !!??

Well it worth the try, cause I took my iPad to the Apple store and they test it said it the charging port but they couldn’t fix it. Then wanting me to buy the same kind for 300.00 and trade mine in......wait a minute, I thought he just told me that it couldn’t be fix....so I find this video and spend 12.00 for the tools, and New port...wish me luck....
