It seems like you went to far in this battery replacement. Just take the screw out by the battery terminal and pry up.

Man I need a battery replacement for my iPad 7th generation but this looks so difficult.

Damn this is so much harder than replacements for a MacBook, was considering it for a family members iPad but doesn't seem like it's worth the hassle sadly

How long do you spend heating up the adhesive? Also! I used to have an iPad 7th Gen and it seemed to have the exact same issues, although I decided to just upgrade to the iPad Air (5th Generation)

Do you reapply the adhesive once done? if not, wouldn't this allow dust and liquids in?

I will use this info to remove the Lithium battery from my aging iPad so I can dispose of it correctly. I've had some success handing one from my old MacBook to the folks at the Apple store. I haven't watched this in detail but I see a HUGE problem. The front is GLUED IN. You have to HEAT IT to open it. I worked as a tech for a decade. It is ALMOST GUARANTEED that you will SEVERELY DAMAGE your iPad trying this. SPEND THE MONEY TO HAVE IT DONE BY AN EXPERIENCED TECH PLACE. "DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME."
