This is very hard to do, I've bought and returned a few Hot Plates, main issue was the screen moves when pulling the wire (the air sucking holes don't always hold it). when I was done the LCD had scratches on it. Buying the LCD and digitizer is around $100 now, or less from China ($70ish). Anyway thanks for the video, its helpful.
Year 2022, Trade Me auction, a seller told the bidders it only cost $25 to $40 to repair the broken glass. We all know what kiwi are like! The cost of labour in the west to replace and repair the glass is enough to buy a brand new LCD panel for the iPad. Do it yourself is not likely for this task.
That's EXACTLY why Apple designed it this way. So when it breaks you won't fix it, and will just throw it out and get a new one. They don't REALLY care about the customer or the environment, despite what they say. They just want your money.
I was under the impression that you can't get a glass only replacement for the ipad air 2. You get the whole assembly LCD and GLASS as one piece. Is this incorrect ??
