Is the 64 gb storage enough for you? What do you basically do on your iPad?

@@yieks.h5926 For me it's enough. I only intend to draw on the ipad, mostly studies, illustrations, concept art for personal projects and maybe some storyboards and small animations. When I will see that I have too many files I will simply upload them to a drive to free space, but I think 64 gb is more than enough for drawing if you don't intend to use it for lots of other apps which take up a lot of space. I only have 2 drawing apps: Procreate and Autodesk Sketchbook.

So you buy the iPad air with 64?

You can use Google drive but you would be able to store more with Google Photos. I have over 2000 pics and videos saved the Google photos. I tend to be a screen shot fiend so helps allot😁

So far I've had no problems with it and I've been deleting the playback video of my drawings on procreate to save some storage.

Number of layers depends upon the ram as well as size of the canvas. Maybe you watched some other video where presenter was using a much bigger canvas, probably for printing purpose.

I dont think 64 gb are enough, for file its not a problem cue you can get a ssd but if you gonna download lot of apps then 128gb /256gb are better due to editing etc like you said

So far I'm fine with the storage that I got because I've been deleting the timelaps recordings from my procreate drawings and it makes the file weigh a lot less, we'll see how it goes after a year of using it.

Not at all! The thing with the ipad and the apple pencil is that it is so well optimized (specially with procreate) that you can't notice any lag when drawing. You really have to look for it to notice the lag or even use slow-mo to see it, when I draw on it, I just feel like I'm drawing on paper, it's very natural.

I have an iPad Air 4 and I got 55 layers for that

There's no tech device that lasts for ever. Apple products are good for sure, but you can't use them forever, sooner or later you'll need a newer ipad because they become slower over time, the battery and ram don't work as well after a few years, etc. My previous iPad I had it for almost 6 years and it's still working and all, but the battery lasts too little and it's kinda slow for working. I gave it to my sister who uses it for entertainment, so it's good enough for her, but I could never use that one for drawing nowadays. If you want an iPad I'd say you wait for the next pro to get announced and then decide between that one or this one which is really good still, even if the next pro is a lot better.

@@yuihoshiart But we can pay Apple to just replace the battery, not much to do about the other specs but I don't see things getting much more resource intensive than they already are, the devs would need to actively make he apps slower for that to happen, they don't optimize how they used to because they no longer need to, but the latest hardware can handle it no problem. i don't see the current best of the best getting that outdated anytime soon. I'm still rocking an Android 5 phone with minimal problems and it was barely mid range. The only problem is the manufacturers artificial bloating and the fact that they keep releasing new OS's when the ones we currently have are perfectly fine, just to push people to upgrade. The batteries are the biggest issue and I'd gladly pay Apple to replace it every few years, until the last year that they allow it, it's less expensive than buying a whole new iPad. Afterwards I'll just suck it up, even if it's a little slow and the battery doesn't last very long. My 6yo phone can barely last a half day but I just charge it wherever I am. Also, new better batteries are coming in the next few years, and I think that then we could buy a true forever device, until then I just wanna make it last as long as possible, and if I ever upgrade it will be a true upgrade. Maybe I should buy the next Pro if I'm gonna go through all the trouble anyway lol

No its will not enough if u playing game or editing video i recommand you 256 gb and having icloud tho so u will not ran out of storage

Not at all, but it all depends on what you're used to writing/drawing on. If you want it for taking notes for school, the smaller size ipad is better because is closer to the size of a regular notebook. If you want it for drawing it depends on where you draw. If you use an A4 size paper or smaller for drawing, go for the ipad air, if you mostly draw on big blocks that are like A3 or A2 size, then you're gonna need a bigger screen.

@@sanysmail what I said still answered for both cases, it depends on what you use for drawing right now. Do you have a pen tablet? Or a screen tablet that connects to a computer? Or do you only draw in traditional form?

@@yuihoshiart hi yes, I use a pen tablet and traditional currently.

@@sanysmail then if your pen tablet is on the smaller side, you'll be fine with the iPad Air, (I wouldn't suggest the ipad pro 11" cause it's almost the same size and the same drawing experience, the $200 for face ID and double storage aren't worth it when you can get the 265Gb iPad Air for $50 less) But if you have a bigger pen tablet or feel to cramped on a small tablet, then you should go for the 12,9" iPad pro. I also wanna clarify that the iPad Air has a bigger space to draw on than a small tablet and even a 13 inch laptop if you plan to use procreate like me. On apps like procreare, that have a very minimal interface, you have almost the entire screen for drawing, that's why it's so comfortable even if the screen is small. I hope this helps you to make your decision.

it depend of your budget , if you can buy ipad pro 2020 OR 2021go for it and if u cant buy ipad air 4 either64 gb or 256gb u have older model tho like ipad air 3 , ipad 8th gen

I'd say you should go for a higher storage. I imagine you're gonna use it more for work, so you'll probably need more. Procreate files are already very heavy because of the video, affinity files are probably less heavy (I dont know bc I dont use it), but if you're gonna be working with a lot of files, you should go for higher storage.

The 8th gen iPad is also good for drawing, I have 2 friends that own it and they enjoy drawing on it a lot. I'd say the biggest downside from the regular iPad (if you wanna use procreate) is that it only has 3gb of ram and that means you'll have less layers on procreate, but if you don't usually draw with a lot of layers, then it'll be fine for you.

Not at all, I come from a 13 inch laptop and a small pen tablet, even if this screen is a bit smaller, with procreate the space for drawing is bigger and more than enough for me. I once tried a 22 inch display tablet and that was way too big for me. If you’re used to drawing in a letter size, A4 size paper or smaller, this size iPad is perfect.

I think for students is enough, except the movie part. It would depend on how much they weight, when I download a regular 1080p movie on my computer it's usually about 2gb, so the iPad would fill up pretty fast. If you wanna have a ton of movies, I'd suggest you get an SD card for that and buy an SD card adapter, it's a lot cheaper than upgrading the iPad storage.
