iPad Air 4 vs iPad 8: The Student Experience! 

I have a question that is I pad 8 good for long run and can I use it to take notes as well as attend my online class and also I am going to use it as my main device and I don't have a laptop..so would you recommend me iPad 8 or iPad air 4

It seems an intermediate step between an ipad pro and the regular ipad, tho seems Air has a better processor (or more modern). It has more ram than the regular ipad (4GB vs 3), better screen (anti glare, etc), an USB-c port (what's with apple and ports removal????), and supports 2nd gen of the Pencil, vs the regular iPad, only supporting the 1st. Yeah, having quite more power, for people like me handling heavy graphic apps it'd be Air all the way, but for 600 -700 bucks, one has to think it deeply if better off saving a bit for an iPad pro 11" or 12,9 (I for one would always prefer a desktop for the same price, but the discussion is valid if additionally a tablet its needed. Currently with the pandemic, stationary desktop make more sense... IMO. And for professional work... well, desktops are the only full solution). For us painters, the laminated display is important (less distance between the pixel and the pen tip), so, that's a plus for Air. But both would feel slightly laggy vs painting on an iPad Pro. The anti glare thingy would be another pro for artists with the Air, but yeah, not to give a shout for your sponsor (hehe) but most people do that thing of putting a film protector (from the name, I guess paperlike is due to the paper like rugosity texture... I'm guessing it also dims the glare, is the usual thing (oh, wait, u said it in the video...sorry). Most people do it for having the pen a better grip on the surface, slightly similar to a paper.... The slippery glass or plastic means less control over the lines. Me, I'd be even more focused on the fact of the glare removal, I can't paint with reflections. The first films (on laptops, phones, tablets) where a pain and a risk to set, but currently is a tad easier. PD: Sorry, pricing and all, this old grunt is not talking from an student POV, lol. Just realized your videos are mostly focused on student deals.

@@vanshikagupta7402 if ur going to use it for the long run, get the ipad air 4, modern design and modern chip (A14), will probably be supported by apple for much longer.

@@calculator4482 i'm not sure about that because i don’t do any note taking on my ipad. I mostly use it for netflix and youtube, but the "sunken" display is quite obvious, especially on white devices.

@@calculator4482 I have the iPad 6 which is pretty similar to the iPad 8 and it’s completely enough to take notes, just make sure to buy the one with 128Gb because with time the notes from GoodNotes or Notability become heavy.

@@calculator4482 it’s good enough. Just outdated design for both the device and pen. But it should be more than sufficient for most students

Im also coming from an ipad 4! where did you noticed the most differences? i'm guessing going from ios 10 to ipados 14 must be a pretty dramatic shift

@@lukassferracin08 Yes, you will get to update your favourite apps ie Netflix, my local news portal etc . Furthermore, my old iPad 4 only have 16GB storage. iOS 14 need more storage, one of the reason to upgrade to Air 4

goodnotes is good for the classroom

You might be able to get that replaced if your warranty is still valid.

Not a good investment for a student. Student only needs it for so much. Pro is not necessary for a student. It wouldnt last as long as the ipad air 4 too.

I will advise you to probably go for the ipad pro because of the photo editing and graphic but the air 4 is better compared to the ipad 8
