iPad Keyboard Case - The Logitech Folio Touch for iPad Review 

Really helpful review. I just purchased my 1st iPad & declined buying the Magic Keyboard because of its ridiculous price. So I purchased this Logitech on sale for $139. It’s fantastic. I, too, learned to type in class on a manual typewriter, so I’ve had to adapt to a variety of keyboards since the “olden days.” This one isn’t bad, but it’s small. I often feel like I’m typing on the child’s keyboard. But I have no problem typing without looking at the keys, so despite the smaller space, the keys are properly set. I have noticed though that my fingers get sore from having to scrunch them up a little on the keyboard. But I’m thrilled there was an affordable, thoughtfully styled alternative to Apple. Without it, I might have just gone with the onscreen keyboard and called it a day!

I honestly prefer my logitech folio touch to the magic keyboard. Initially, price was the main reason for me to go for it but now I’m happy with my decision. I love the function keys, I love the fact that the case provides protection to the sides unlike the magic keyboard, the trackpad works fine with tap to click enabled, the angles are perfect for anything. The kickstand is useful but I’d prefer the implementation of the magic keyboard over it - however, that alone can’t justify me spending twice the money. So here I am, a happy customer. I hope the fabric will last a long time to serve me.... Cheers!

Nice review! I’ve been using a Logitech Folio Touch on my iPad Pro (10.5 inch) since shortly after it came out. Early on it was plagued by random disconnects and usually did not work on wake up, but Logitech just pushed out a firmware update that seems to have solved both problems. Just FYI, re: the trackpad issue, enabling Tap to Click will allow you to click anywhere on the trackpad, including the top 1/3.

I have this keyboard for my iPad Pro 11 inch, and I love it.

Great review, however I have the IPad Air. At the beginning I believed it was great, but after a few months, little features have got me really wanting to return and spend that extra 150 for that little more premium. The edges catch on every material, and it stops it from feeling like an iPad with the disability to remove it without prying your fingernails. Loads of chargers don’t fit in the port, so you can basically only charge overnight. If you are liking for a setup using it, spring a little bit more for the Magic Keyboard.

I love it, I just am looking for a way to add some material on the outsides near the meeting corners between the ipad and keyboard sections so that when I open it, it holds it open, and not forcing me to use the kickstand which does take up some space which for me is needed space most of the time. other than that, i really love it. I do hope for a future update where we can leave the backlighting on as long as we’d like without any use or perhaps a bit longer. Remember, you’re paying half the price as Apple’s keyboard. For half the price you’re getting more features such as more keyboard functions, you still get keyboard shortcuts, it protects your entire iPad, you get monthly updates which improve the functions of the keyboard, and much more. Tips: you can take quick screen shots by pressing the lock and volume-up keys at the same time - If you edit with Lumafusion, you get to use all the keyboard shortcuts which make editing so much simpler, more professional and I have found it really improves my workflow - the first 2 weeks you might have problems with the keyboard pairing as about 90% of users who have reported this on reddit have experienced, it is normal - If you ever run into any latency or pairing issues, just quickly turn off the ipad with the lock key and log back in, if it continues, a hard reset will fix the issue - the arrow keys tho they seem not thought out well, they are actually quite easy to use - I have had this keyboard with my iPad Pro for 3 months now and there is not wear at all, I have spilled drinks and food on my keyboard and it is still working and looks clean. I’m not sure how well it repels liquids but just fold the keyboard back for viewing mode to drain out fluids. I paid about $30 for about a year or two when I purchased it at best buy for insurance in case it gets damaged. No regrets I love this keyboard so much and this company that I had to type all this. I have found I type fastest at night and since it is night here, I just had to help those still struggling with making a decision on a iPad keyboard (70 wpm to be exact... about 50 or 60 in the day haha) ps - this keyboard comes in handy when playing mobile games, specially on Among Us when they sus you and there isn’t enough time to tell your side of the story. There are also lots of free and very affordable apps that can help improve your typing speed. I was actually typing under 50wpm about 2 months ago.

I bought a cheap knockoff plastic version of the brydge keyboard branded ‘arteck’ for my iPad Air 3. Ive already cracked the corner and probably only charged it about 5 times, but I have had it a year and would buy another in a heartbeat. Oh yeah, it was £30

Great vid. I have the Logitech one without the trackpad and I have to charge it. I don’t like that part. I have the 12.9 I would like the trackpad and not to have to charge it. That I don’t like. Hope they come out with the 12.9 one that you are showing. One more big question. How old are you? I’m 59..

If I could have the fabric material from this Logitech on the Magic Keyboard from Apple, I'd probably buy it day one. The material that Apple uses on the Magic Keyboard is what is holding me back from buying it.

I’m still not into these kind of case keyboards. They are way too small and I cannot type very comfortably. My setup is the trackpad and the keyboard from my iMac at the desk . On the run I’m working in tablet mode with the touch input. But As always with tech: things have to fit your needs.

I have the same case for my 2019 12.9 iPad Pro. Great typing experience and great case. Light, soft rubbery material that doesn’t look cheap. And relatively great price. Edit: my model does not have the fabric part. The keyboard is just plastic and the cover smooth rubber. That’s better IMHO

I’ve got the Combo Touch for the 12.9 and I love it. Very “MacBookish”

Hey, do you think you could tell me if I put stickers on the case will it damage it somehow? Like if I remove it after will it leave any marks? Thanks! (I’m talking about standard vinyl stickers that aren’t too sticky.)

Worth noting that you can use the iPad in a drawing mode on this keyboard whereas the magic keyboard you have to take off. For pencil users like myself the security of the case prevents the accidental drop of the pencil. A very much well worth keyboard and is in my eyes better then magic. The kickstand isn’t a big deal and often times I will use the Apple Pencil to write instead of the keyboard if it was in my laptop :)

How is the trackpad? Does it have all the gestures/features of the magic keyboard? 3 finger swipe?

I bought this case and I like it but it makes the whole thing very heavy!

Picked it up at only $108 on Amazon. Even though the combo touch is available now, couldn’t justify the extra almost $100 to grab it vs the folio touch.

back when you took typing classes did you also have those orange rubber covers you had to put on top of the keyboard so even if you did look down you wouldn't know which keys were which? i really love the look of the folio touch and its price point compared to the magic keyboard, especially because it provides a case for the sides of the ipad. my only complaint is that the keyboard isn't removable like it is on the combo touch for the 7th/8th gen ipad and 3rd gen ipad air. i don't like the idea of flipping the keyboard over and laying it face down if using it for reading or watching something. i really don't understand why they didn't update that model for the new ipad air and pro

They do have this case for the iPad Pro 12.9 inch now. It runs around $220. But I believe it’s worth it. You can check on the Apple store and they will have it.

Nice, but, unfortunately, the folio touch isn’t available to ship to my country(Ukraine🇺🇦), so the magic keyboard is the only one option for me.

When I use Apple’s “Pages” program and hit the space bar with my Logitech keyboard, it erases everything I have typed. Is this happening with anybody else? It’s maddening. I’ve tried typing everything in notes and then copying it all to pages and it works fine until I have to edit what I wrote. Frustrating. What program are you all using to type in?

My guess is that apple didn‘t let them make a version for the 12.9...since it‘s using the smart connector and afaik apple didn‘t open it up to everyone

We love the reviews, but for the love of all things holy, would you reviewers put the keyboard case on your lap to see if it falls off or not!!! There too many situations where there is no desktop to place our iPads upon, so we're forced to use our lap. So we REALLY NEED TO KNOW if it's usable on our laps or not, and I've not found one reviewer that will tell ya. Rant over, and thanks for the review! (Note: one might think that maybe one could go to Amazon questions for a specific iPad/case and ask the question whether a certain case will work on one's lap. But when I've done that I get conflicting answers. Most frustrating! So we need a reviewer to show us.....please!)

Apple spends tons of effort to make ipad thin. Something costs a lot to make it thick again like a dictionary.
